Christmas Card 2015

I tried to write a Christmas letter several times.  I had a few creative ideas, but every time I tried to sum up our year, I just couldn't do it.  It was too much to say, and yet not much of an update to give.  We moved 4 times in 2015.  Who does that?  I wanted to be able to explain why or how settled we feel now that those moves are over, but it's not the case.  We are considering yet another move, which would happen early this year and it's just so up in the air still.  It's not that I'm embarrassed of what we've done, it's just that none of it makes sense.  So this word cloud was about the best I could do.  I like to write letters to send, but more for our family history documentation.. so when I look back at this blob of words in the future, I will totally get it.  2015 was full of so many good things and memories made, but it was a bizarre year from beginning to end.

December was kind of a crazy month, too.  I've never procrastinated Christmas like I did in 2015.  We made our typical paper chain with fun activities to do, but it seemed like all of them were difficult to fulfill.  We bought everything for gingerbread houses, but never put them together.  We cut out snowflakes but didn't hang them up before they were ruined.  A few of us went to temple square, but never made it back as a family.  We didn't do any shopping until 2 days before Christmas and we didn't wrap anything before Christmas Eve.  Cards were mailed after the holidays (in fact, I still have a stack I need to address..) and it was just all kind of a mess.  After going through that, I feel like starting my Christmas shopping and wrapping for next year today.  I cannot handle procrastinating and it makes it not fun.  But it all got done and it was magical.  I work well under pressure, but I'd much rather get things done early.

Ben and Luke were amazing during our shopping craze.  They found the majority of the gifts for the little kids.  Simon only wanted a ninja outfit and weapons, and had I bought it online, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but we couldn't find one anywhere.  After a dozen stores, I wanted to give up, but Ben and Luke were positive they could find it at Toys R Us.  I was skeptical, but we made the trip and they ran in while I had the little ones in the car.  They came out within a few minutes with a big bag and smiles on their faces.  Our shopping was complete and Simon was a real life ninja on Christmas Day.  He hasn't worn the costume since, though, now that I think about it..

What will 2016 bring?  something real good..  Hopefully I will have another update soon.  xoxo
