For those of you who don't know, which is practically everyone, since we just found out ourselves.. Aaron hasn't graduated from law school, yet. We just found out (two days ago) that one of his classes as a visiting student @ UNLV, isn't transferring back to Gonzaga. This means he's two credits (yes, 2 credits) short of graduation... which means he can't sit for the bar in July. It's a long story that really shouldn't be told because it's so sad. Law school has been hard enough and these past few weeks have almost been unbearable! So here's the story...
When we found out, his only option was to wait until Feb to take the Nevada bar.. in the mean time, he could work and take a measly two credit class in the fall. But Aaron, being the resourceful, wonderful person that he is, found a short two week class in Portland. He got permission (from Gonzaga) to attend the school, enrolled in the class, talked with the teacher and asked if he could submit grades ASAP, smooth-talked the Nevada state bar to extend his transcript submission work until the class ends, and will still be able to sit for the bar. Neither of us expect him to actually PASS the bar after spending two weeks in Portland learning about wetlands... but it's worth the try (we hope.) The passing rate of the Nevada bar is only around 55%, so we are crossing our fingers and saying our prayers.
So, Aaron leaves for Portland in the morning. The boys and I are going to Utah to hang with family while he studies his butt off.. All I can say after this whole ordeal is that I LOVE my husband to death. He is so funny, humble, sweet, honest, smart, thoughtful, handsome, wonderful and almost perfect. Why something like this has happened to someone like him is beyond me, but we will get through it. Trials come in all different shapes and sizes... but I feel grateful for all the blessings I have, especially for my little family. If you want to give a shout out to Aaron and wish him luck, you can comment here. If you say prayers and wish to include him, that would be wonderful too. If you don't pray and can't post a comment, please send money in the mail. either, or.

Good thing I know how to comment and pray...I'd hate to send a check in the mail as I fear the check would bounce! I've been an Aaron fan for many years, even before Janet eh? We know you can do this! We love the Shumways!!
Good luck Aaron! Hope you tear it up! I am sure you will do great! You will be in our prayers for sure! How stressful for you guys! Keep us posted!
How crushing that news must have been! I would have laid on my bed and cried for days. If Aaron could manage to find a way to take the Bar this summer despite all those obstacles working against him, he can do anything! I know everything will work out well for you guys and our prayers are with you too.
Best of the best of luck with the bar. For sure you will be in our prayers! We love you guys. Remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. :)
