The day started out great.. with a big rainbow on the way to church. When we first saw it, I said to Luke, "I bet it's Heavenly Father's way of saying 'Happy Birthday' to you!!" He replied with, "either that or it just rained." He's such a optimist.

The big controversy for the day was which Primary class Luke should attend.. He wanted to go to Ben's (because we are the teachers) and we finally convinced Daddy that we can break rules every once in a while.. especially on your birthday. It was cute to see the boys with their arms around each other during sharing time.

We had my cousin, Bethany and her family over for dinner and birthday cake. It's so nice to have family nearby! We had a house FULL of little boys (she has three of her own.)

It's a little hard having a birthday on Sunday, but we worked it out! In fact, Luke went to bed saying "This was the best birthday I've ever had." Which came from earlier predictions from enthusiastic Ben who kept saying over and over this week... "Luke, this is going to be the BEST birthday of your LIFE!" We are probably safe to say it was!

I'm with Luke, it probably just rained.
Thanks for the invite. It was such a blast! We need to get together more often. Spencer was demanding to know when we were coming back, and Calvin said, "those guys were really cool." To which I replied..."Of course. They're my family!" ;)
Happy Birthday, Luke! I was just thinking yesterday about holding Luke for the first time. I held him at your parent's house while he was sleeping and by the time he woke up he was a little pool of sweat. :) My arm and shirt were totally soaked. One hot little sleeper. I don't know why I was thinking about that...
Love all of the pictures. Luke's smile warms my heart like few other smiles in the world. I am SO glad to know such a sweet boy!
Cute cake! Sounds like such a fun day!
