our Utah adventures

We had a great time with Karlin's kids and there were SO many pictures to chose from. Highlights for my boys were playing with Avaree and Weston, their dog Laney and watching movies in their theater room (seriously.. it is beautiful!) We played hide and go seek (flashlight style) every night and stayed inside everyday because there was just too much snow (and I wasn't about to lug around 5 kids ages 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6) The best part for me was having two helpful, sweet teenagers!! Baylee and Griffin are the BEST kids alive and I seriously looked forward to 3:15 everyday... because I knew they were coming home from school! Not only did they releave me of some of the child care chaos, but they cleaned the entire house from top to bottom. Karlin does a LOT for her siblings, but they are such blessings-- I know she would be lost without them. I am sure their mom is smiling down on them and is so proud of how close they are and how much they serve each other.

Zack followed Laney around everywhere and was happy all day. She is such a sweet dog and was so good with the kids, even when they were poking her eyes out. I really loved her too because she protected us at night and cleaned up under the high chair after every meal. I am almost considering getting rid of my vacuum and getting a dog.... almost.

It was so much fun to have Aaron come for the weekend. I know it was a sacrifice for him to fly in, but it really meant a lot to me. He is such a BIG support and I grateful for all he does for me. Saturday night, we were able to hot tub in the Kessler's fancy jacuzzi (after the babies went to sleep.) Ben and Luke didn't want to get out (and either did we! It was SO cold outside) but her view of Utah county is breathtaking!
I know Karlin is going to kill me for posting these (because she is so humble and would NEVER brag about her gorgeous home) but I don't have a problem doing it for her. She has a total party house and my boys LOVED it... they were downstairs playing pool, fuzeball and darts (when they weren't watching a movie in their theater.) I took these pics on our way out to the hot tub and let me just say that her basement (fully equipped with a second kitchen) is nicer than any place I have ever lived! She has a great talent for making her home seem comfortable and very classy at the same time. It was fun to "play house" in her place... however it's not easy keeping two busy boys out of their 8 bathrooms! I have never cleaned up so much wet toilet paper in my life!!

Glad you made it home safe and tired. Sounds like you made some good memories. After being with such a large group, three must feel like a cake walk. Unless your like me and I just sit and eat the cake.

Do you do long distance babysitting? I would so hire you... just trust you so much with children Janet.

This house. 8 bathrooms! Wow. Good job Karlin.

So glad your hubbs flew up for the weekend. That really is selfless (although no doubt he wanted to be with you.)
Thanks for your example!

wow! I want to go stay at that house! Hot-tubbing with your hubby was probably wonderful payment for your week of babysitting. That was nice of you, and all the kids look like they had a great time with you. From your blog it seems like your children never have a chance to get bored. They are always playing and learning. That takes a lot of your energy and is great. Good Job. I have learned a lot just from your blog about ways to be a good mom. Thank you! :)

Oh Janet! I love all the pictures. You will have to send me some. I especially LOVE the pictures of Baylee and Weston. They are so cute. They kind of look alike too. Baylee and Griffin are the BEST kids ever. I probably would be lost with out them. Yes, I am embarrassed silly girl. Did you know I didn't even know we had 8 bathrooms? I had to count after I read that. We had to make our house fun since we are SNOWED in half the year!

I should have mentioned that it was Ben who counted the bathrooms.. I overheard him telling Luke how many there were as if it was SO cool-- and it is!

you are freaking kidding me. Someday I hope to have 8 ROOMS total in my whole house. That is way too many toilets, showers, and sinks to clean. I have one bathroom right now and I can barely keep up with it! anyway her house looks so gorgeous! I am so happy she has a nice house to entertain her constant flow of people!
