Don't you want to sing that song every time you put on deodorant? ...um, I mean..... I don't either.
I kind of feel weird posting several conversations of my kids playing the game "the raise your hand if..." But they are funny, so I'm gonna. Zack loves this game and enthusiastically shouts "ME!" for any question asked. Ben and Luke know this and take advantage of our little guy. Today I overheard a conversation like this:
Luke: If you have a poopy diaper, raise your hand!
Zack(who wasn't poopy) raised both hands in the air and shouted: ME!
[both older boys giggling]
Ben: If you want to wear a dress, raise your hand.
Zack: ME! I do!
[more hysterical giggles]
Ben: If you want to wear makeup, raise your hand.
Zack: ME!
Luke: If you're a girl, raise your hand!
Zack: ME!
At this point I decided to interrupt.... I would never forgive myself is Zack grew up to be a cross-dresser. I came into the room and tried to teach Zack a lesson..
Me: Zack, are you a girl?
Zack: Yes [something he hardly EVER says]
Me: NO! Mommy is a girl. Zack is a boy! Say, "I'm a BOY!!"
Zack: I SHARK boy! [with all the enthusiasm a 2 year old can hold]
Luke: Then who's Lava Girl?
All of us ended up laughing over that one. He obviously isn't quite ready to understand all of this boy/girl stuff. We will have to try again in a month or so.

Another thing my kids have been obsessed with is double meaning for words and JOKES. They have been trying to make up their own jokes for a while now, but of course, they are the only people who think the jokes are funny. Every once in a while, something comes out that I must write down...
Ben: What animal eats grass and is good at math?
Me: hmmm... I am stumped.
Ben: A COWculator! Get it? Like a COW?
and another one--
Ben: What does one car say to the other car?
Luke: Don't drive by me.
Ben: No, it says, 'Do you have gas?'
I don't think Luke got it, but I thought it was clever...

The other day, I asked Ben to run upstairs and grab something for me. He came down looking devastated and said:
Mom, I have two really bad news. The first is that I can't find it. And the second is that I have NO good news.
Chin up, little fella.

Another thing that had me smiling this week... While out shopping, Ben had to go to the bathroom and absolutely refuses to go in the women's bathroom with me. I waited outside while he was in the men's (desperately hoping he flushes the toilet and washes his hands.)
When he came out, he says: BOY! It sure smells like raisins in there!
I just busted out laughing. I guess there are worse things it could smell like.. ?

not this cute anymore!

Adorable. I had to stop and think about smelling like raisins : ) Sam
I really don't think there are worse smells than raisins...and dang, people put them in cookies! How devastating.
Love what your boys say and can't wait to see them next week!!
Oh my goodness! Your boys are adorable and so funny - and I think their jokes are funny too! I sure can't wait for my little girl to start talking.:)
Brinley laughed at the jokes and wants to hear more. She is always making up jokes but they don't ever make sense. Cody thinks they are great though.
love made up jokes. and love the "no good news"! too precious!
I love hearing what your boys have to say... Tonight we were at dinner and I took Avaree to the bathroom and when we walked in... she said, "Wow, this bathroom is incredible!" I don't know why but it was funny. What would make her think to say that? The "Cowculator" was a good joke. Clever little Ben. Oh and Avaree has to tell me everyday that she is a BOY!
Poor little Zack! This is just the beginning of the things that will happen to him just because he's younger than the oldest two who are best buds. At least that has been my experience with the twins and Hans. I'm sure Zack will be able to hold his own though.
My problem is I am the one that tries to get my two year old to say funny yes and no answers, I am a bad influence on the other three, but I love laughing, so what are you going to do.
I know this has nothing to do with this post, but I have a question about the stat counter thing. I signed up and there is some number that is linked to the computer-isp# - maybe I am not sure what the word is. I need to figure out how to find this number so the counter stops counting me, Does this make sense or am I as slow as this sounds?
You have some smart little boys there!
The "no good news comment" cracks me up!!
I too once had an interesting experience with a boy who didn't want to go in the girls bathroom. Ryan insisted on going in the boys (he was about three). I let him because it was a small bathroom and I checked and it was empty. Standing by the door, I hear him start yelling for me and crying. I rush into the men's room to find he has accidentally peed all over his pants and the floor (curse those tall toilets!). So I am trying to calm my very anal kid about all the pee on his clothes and use paper towels to wipe a huge puddle off the floor in a mens room in a hospital when a paramedic walks in. I assured him I would be out in no time and left some of the puddle there, and went straight to the girls bathroom WITH ryan (who didn't seem to care anymore) to SCRUB our hands. After that I made him come with me until he was like 8 years old!
I love the stories of your boys--I can so understand sometimes. Three boys makes you a little crazy in some ways!
