things that made me SMILE today..

We are having ALL KINDS of drama... I will get around to filling you in later. But lets just say that we are moving out of our place in a couple of weeks, but our house won't close for another month. "Homeless.... Homeless" sing it with me now. Aaron needs a new car-- and it's always fun to buy two really big things at the SAME TIME! And let's not even talk about our furniture. Anyway, like I said, that is for another time and place. Even though my life is chaotic, I can't help but feel so grateful for my sweet boys. These are the funny things they've said today...

Luke: Mom, let's do something really fun today.
Me: I wish I could, but I have lots to do. You guys can play in the boxes while I pack.
Luke: Well, what I was thinking about is something we can do at home.
Me: Okay.
Luke: You're going to really, REALLY love it.
Me: What is it??
Luke: Watch THE OFFICE! (said with a huge smile--as if it was going to ROCK my world.)
We didn't watch it, however. But it's the thought that counts.

Ben: Mom, I have really been thinking about something lately.
Me: Uh-oh.
Ben: Who created God?
Me: Oh boy. Well, I believe he had a Father...
Ben: I knew you were going to say that. So, I bet you know what my next question is going to be.
Me: Actually, I have no idea.
Ben: Who was the FIRST Heavenly Father EVER?
Me: Why don't you ask Dad that as soon as he walks in the door.

Zack: I have to go pee-pee!
Me: Alrighty then! (sitting him on the toilet)
Zack: (after two little tiny drips) MY DONE! (he says "my" instead of "I'm" but he's no longer referring to himself in third person...)
Me: You can't be.
Zack: My just kidding! Ha!
That got me to laugh because it's so typical of him. He's SO silly. When he saw me smile he said in a really sweet voice: "I love going pee-pee so much."

Me: We need to go through these toys and decide what to keep and what to give away--
Ben and Luke: Give away, give away, give away, give away.
Me: Are you sure? Do you think you will miss them?
Ben: No, all that really matters is that we have each other.
Luke: Yeah. And our Transformers.

Zack: I gotta joke.
(now pointing to a laffy taffy wrapper and pretending to read)
What does the Fox run around?
(pause)
A house! Get it?
Me: No, not at all, but A+ for effort.

Wow, Janet, your boys aren't at all thoughtful, funny, sweet, handsome, etc. etc. You should just get rid of them along with the non-Transformer toys. :)

So what is the new house like? You can't expect me to get all my news from Bev. I need details!

The house is newer, nicer, bigger and more expensive.. It's still in our ward-- maybe a mile from where we live now.. and we like it. How's that for details.

I will post pictures soon.. keep your pants on!

I want to know what your husband's response to Ben's question was. Ben is only 7 and he is asking questions like that? Wow. He must be a very old spirit.

I'm just a beginner...Give me some time ;-)

I can't believe how good Zack is at talking! My little Jane is the same age, and she is still speaking 90% in her own special language. When I come in the room to ask why she's crying, she'll tell me the WHOLE story. It usually goes something like this: "Jabber, jabber, jabber, jabber, jabber, BEN, jabber, jabber, jabber jabber PUSH jabber, jabber, jabber, jabber . . ." And it goes on and on and on. By the way, Ben is her brother, if you didn't get that. Anyway, it's cute to see how talkative Zack is.

Can I trade you kids?! Our sorting today went like this;

Me: Audrey, we can't keep eveything. Mommy's tired of picking up all this stuff that doesn't have a home. I'll clean your room, if you'll give away 10 things.

Audrey: Can't we do it tomorrow?

What followed was major negotiation over every rock, stick, shred of paper, cheap plastic toy, etc.. that she's convinced she can't possibly live without. I think we ended up tossing 5 things altogether (nothing that was worth even donating) and there were many tears along the way.

Could Ben come over and give us some life coaching?!

Your little guys are angels and smart, too! I just love it when my kids brighten my day with the funny thoughts that roll around in their heads.

Hope you guys enjoy the new home. It's nice getting more space. Heaven knows we need it. To bad the market stinks in our area.

I honestly can't stop laughing at what your Zack is saying. He isn't just funny, but witty at age 3. Now, that is a treasure to have. Thanks for making me laugh, Zack!

All that matters is that we have eachother. Love it. How come Ben is SO mature?? Good luck packing but WHERE ARE YOU GOING?? And love that Zack is following in Ben and Luke's footsteps with the jokes.

Janet-
your kids are darling! Unfortunately, I'm far too familiar with your moving, homeless, big purchases at once dilemma. The sun does continue to shine! Oh- and I love the merry maids idea! Love, Stacie
