a week in the life of the Shumways

we have been busy, busy, busy.. so busy that I haven't had time to get on the computer.. and that is saying a lot! I will give you a quick run down of our week and get to downloading pictures later..

Monday--
We had a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with some friends.. and the food was OH! so delicious!! I had a hangover from so much guacamole. yum!

Tuesday--
morning- cleaning, grocery shopping and other errands
afternoon-My sister Debbie (who lives in SLC) arrives with her three beautiful girls and her lovely Brazilian nanny, Luiza.
evening- Aunt Flo decided to visit as well along with a KILLER bladder infection. There's nothing like sending your husband to the store at midnight to pick up some Uristat and cranberry juice.

Wednesday--
morning-- homeschool with cousins!
afternoon-- pedicures, swimming and sunburns. And after a LONG (much needed) nap, we headed to a petting zoo. An emu charged us and we thought we were going to die.. yet a good time was had by all.
evening-- date night. Aaron and I double with a guy from our ward and Luiza.. while Deb watched the kids. We went to a delicious Mediterranean restaurant and then played a round of RummyKub-- where Luiza won her first time ever playing. I think I am a skilled match maker and hope they will hook it up! I want to steal Luiza from Debbie and have her living in Vegas! Muew... ha, ha, ha. My plan is working out perfectly....

Thursday--
morning-- water balloons, sand pit, picnic lunch at the park
afternoon-- more swimming and this time we remembered the sunscreen. When the kids went down for a nap, Debbie and I hit a movie.. We saw MADE of HONOR. I really liked it, but probably would have enjoyed anything other than a cartoon. How fun is it to go shopping and then to a matinée with your sister in the middle of the week without kids!
evening-- a night out on the strip. We took the gang to the Bellagio water show down town. The kids loved it and were WIPED OUT on the way home... we all were!

plans for Friday--
morning-- visit a horse ranch. Deb's girls are OBSESSED with horses. And when I say obsessed, I mean they are usually down on all fours galloping and neighing! (and I thought my boys' Transforming was weird!)
afternoon-- Silverton Aquarium
evening -- GIRLS NIGHT OUT! Aaron is coming home early and taking care of all the kiddos! He is such a great guy!! Wish him luck because we have 6 kids six and under... yikes!

Saturday --
all our visitors leave us :(
Aunt Flo better be included.

Sunday --
The best Mother's Day EVER! (or so my boys are telling me it's gonna be!)

wow, I feel special to be the first one to comment! Did you go to the petting zoo by Red Rocks? We went there once and got stuck forever between these two donkeys that wouldn't move (we had a stroller). One of them was pregnant and was huge (yeah, I know EXACTLY what that feels like!). It was hillarious. We started pushing it as hard as we could, but she just wouldn't budge. Sounds like you've had a very fun week, and more fun to come.

Girls and horses just go together...that made me smile! I remember "playing horse," and I had a collection of glass horses...wanted to be a vet when I grew up...funny stuff, but I totally understand it! Have a GREAT time....all you girls, and buena suerte, Aaron!
Love, Mom Shums

Okay... I've had a lazy week compared to you! Sounds like fun, can't wait to see pics. You actually bumped your phone and called me on your date night. I listened in on some of your conversation! I didn't hear much other than the decision to play a game. And swimming?? I'm so jealous!
