Halloween is absolutely the BEST.HOLIDAY.EVER! I love candy and I love dressing up.. so when you combine the two, I am one happy girl! Aaron is catching the Halloween spirit and even made his own gun holder this year! Yay for duct tape! We bought the boys outfits at Target, but pieced ours together last minute. I quickly sewed together my dress from a white sheet, wrapped tin foil around a belt and spray painted an old water gun black! And for friends in HS who still tease me about my white winter boots.. let me just say that you NEVER KNOW when they will come in handy. On Saturday night, we hit the Halloween party at our church and took home the award for best family costumes.. that's the way we work it, yo!

I loved telling my older boys to smile. Every time I said it, they would scream from under their masks, "I AM!!!" They never thought it was funny, but I did.
My husband was a sexy Han Solo. You should have seen his gun! I was going to wear Princess Leia's gold bikini outfit to the ward party, but decided it would be best for the bedroom. And it was. This is exactly what I looked like later that night.

this year I hope to dress up as a woman giving birth. Of course, nobody but the doctor and my husband and a few close relatives will get to see it. If Sarah comes a little earlier than that, then I will just be a really tired new momma instead.

I told Rick about that on the way home and he was like "well yeah...Darth Vader has a red light saber," as if he understood perfectly. I think he would have been just as concerned if that were his costume. Too bad we didn't get a picture of our two Yoda's together. I think they were a little confused looking at each other. :-)
I love that you guys dress up every year. This was our first year really dressing up (although one year we dressed up as Kevin's parents, but I don't really count that because no one knew who we were), and now I want to dress up every year. I loved your gun. It really complemented your deinty hairstyle and dress.
Jane-- our two Yodas were very confusing for the people giving out candy. Every time Zack held out his bucket, someone would say, "I think I already gave one to you, Yoda!" I should have made sure Zack was in front of Vaugh.. dang it! funny.
And Emily, you guys were awesome. You totally pulled off Sarah Palin. That was such a nice suit! Hope it didn't cost you $100.000. I think that's hilarious that you dressed up as Kevin's parents. I want to try that for Thanksgiving and see if anyone else realizes it. or not.

LOL, you crack me up! I can't believe I missed seeing so many families. I didn't even see the Buck's - awesome costumes there! Thanks for loaning us costumes, even though Rodney chose not to partake. He, too, may come around one day and get into the spirit of Halloween (or any holiday, for that matter), but I'm not counting on it. I may have stained your shirt, though, with chili. But I'm not worried...you can help me get it out in a few hours when you come to help me with projects! ;)

I have tried numerous years to do a family theme, but it NEVER works. Preslie bailed on us this year. The Incredibles would have been perfect for us! Oh, well. I love your Leia and your adult innuendos. Yes, I caught the one about the gun ;)
