I cry the day that I take the tree down.... NOT

I LOVE Christmas... I really do, but once it's over, I am over it. Why keep the stockings hanging and the tree up when all it does is clutter your house? Maybe I am in a rush to take down Christmas because Aaron's birthday always gets overshadowed by the Holidays. Or maybe I turn into Ebeneezer Scrooge on the 26th. For me and my house, we clean Christmas up ASAP and look toward the new year....

So, no more Christmas music on my blog. No more red and green. No more nice guy. Not until next December, anyway.

And I really need to change my header pictures... I believe every single one was taken in 2007 (or before!) It's time to move on with my life and forget about Disneyland and why it's the happiest place on Earth.

I also need to change my blog title from "It's a Wonderful Life " to something else.. Any suggestions? I was thinking about "Life is Mediocre" but not so drab. Help.

Can you believe 2009 is just around the corner?
I need a MAJOR new year's resolution brain storming session.
For some reason, the goals I set for 2008 kinda didn't work out...

I agree with you on the christmas decorations. I was wondering what program do you use to make your header? I have been thinking of changing my blogs title also. I guess the new year does that to us.

I love your header..and we know that it is, at least in part, you being sarcastic. We may all have wonderful moments, but the happily ever after is a myth, at least where you thought you could have it without any effort...and I think the bashing the whole world is receiving economically is making everyone a bit edgy (OK - more than a bit) but we all have to have hope! So, someone please give you and I some clues and we'll go and scavenge up some...

-I meant I love your blog title, but you know what I meant, right? And the pictures are cute too, even if you say they are outdated...

Janet,
I was snooping on your blog again, and had to tell you I swear you and Suzanne are so alike. She looks for the first chance she can after Christmas to "get all this junk downstairs" again. She is a big anti-clutter freak, and that Michael McLean song makes her sick! (I think she would change it to "I cry the day we put the tree up")

Some suggestions for a new title of your blog:

1. Life is okay some of the time.

2. What's the point?

3. Disneyland ain't that great if you really think about it.

And my personal favorite:
We'd rather live on Oakledge Road with the Poulsens!!!

P.S. Tell Aaron congrats for being such a hot guy

i WILL comment but i'd rather just talk. i'll give you a call in a few...after lunch.
i need to know ALL your 2008 goals that didn't work out. please send them in an email to me.
also, you could try "life sucks" - it does have a story behind it...but it is quite negative.
how about "life was wonderful"
ok, i don't have any good ideas.
i'm with you on the decoration clean up. i've decided the christmas stuff should be put up soon after thanksgiving to have several full weeks to enjoy it then it should go right down after the festivities and have it clean and fresh for the new year.

Oh Christmas is down! On the 26th at 6 a.m. Christmas is down. I LOVE all the stuff up & you must have it up, but I CANNOT handle all that clutter and stuff that doesn't really match my decor. Seriously by about the 23rd I'm losing my mind because of it!!

How about "It's a Life" for your new title?

We usually leave our tree up until new years, but not this time. We had a huge spider infestation from our tree. I did a little post about it. Very creepy!!

I am a feng shui blogger. I change my look almost every month. To me it's my scrapbook, so it's gotta be different.

I think it's great that you want to make a change to your blog for the new year. Can't wait to see what you come up with:)

Oh and the snow is now 3 1/2 feet. Not fun anymore. I am afraid of our roof caving in.

How about The Amazing Mediocrity of the Everyday Miracle we call Life.

I agree totally. I usually wait until New years, but that whole week I am itching to get it all cleaned up. I think the only thing that stops me is knowing it is going to be an all day project, and I need a little time to re-coup after the excitement of Christmas. However, outside decorations wait for a warm day, no matter how long that takes!

I like "It's A Wonderful Life". That's the name of my favorite song - it's by Gwen Stefani. Every time I come to your blog, I start singing my favorite song in my head. If you really want to change it, I hope you find something that you like.

I really like "it's a wonderful life." but it's your blog. i'll still come around even if you change the name.

I think you should rename the blog "It Could Be Worse". That screams "my life is okay, but not too okay". On second thought, maybe I'll call MY blog that.
