proud big brothers

Can you tell they're excited to have another boy in the house?

Ben CANNOT get enough of the baby. All he says is:
"Can I hold him? Can I hold him? Can you believe how cute he is? If I go downstairs, then I will miss him! Can I hold him? Is there anything about him that looks like ME? I love him SO MUCH already!"
This is the one of the first things Luke said to me after the baby was born.. (I kid you not)
"Did you know that every baby is born with over 300 bones, but because they fuse together, by the time they are an adult they only have 206. There are like 30 bones just in his skull."
I have NO IDEA if that is true, but coming from Luke, I would imagine it's probably accurate.

The picture says it all. Zack is ECSTATIC about being an older brother.
He doesn't want to hold him very much or for very long, but he loves him alright.
He has already passed down his beloved truck pillow
and gave the baby his very first (and very in the FACE) puppet show.
While joking about a few names, Zack asked the baby if he wanted to be called Jasper.
When the baby sneezed in response, Zack said, "I think he's allergic to Jasper!"
(that name isn't even on the list, btw.)

Aaron is proud to have four boys.
I love to watch how sweet he is with the baby (and to me.)
If only Daddy could be at home always...

I am literally pinching myself every waking moment.
Do I REALLY have a little doll to play with???

His eyes ARE dark, and he looks like he's smiling in the picture with you. You already look so good. Just don't push yourself to do much. He's a doll!! It brings back lots of memories as your mom & I'm so glad I am. I love you very much!

I love all the pictures. I've been so sad that we can't hold him, but at least we can see what he looks like.

You are gorgeous, Jan. Who took that last picture?

ps. Luke's bones remark made me laugh. I think that's right. I will look it up for you :)

I just love reading your blog, even though I don't even know you. I love how your littlest Jedi looks so much like his dad. It's the attack of the clones!

the last picture was snapped by Zack. He has taken his fair share of pictures the last couple of days... he thinks he is quite the photog.

And yes, we looked up Luke's random BONE FACTS. Pretty darn accurate. He told me he learned it from some kind of kids meal toy a while ago. ? from Sonic apparently. Anyway---- I guess they aren't a total waste of money.

Thanks everyone! Lots of love!

Seriously I love it all! he is adorable and the excitement in the house can be felt through your words. YEAH FOR YOU GUYS!!!!

He is so ADORABLE! I think he looks like Luke from the nose up and Zack on the bottom half of his face. Your boys expressions DO say it all. What a lucky little guy to be born to such loving (and smart) older brothers. And you do NOT look like you just had a baby yesterday! You look way too good. Glad you are doing well! :-)

So, so, so, SO cute! I love how cute and excited all the boys are for their sweet little brother. And you look absolutely fantastic! Funny enough, we just bought a new minivan last week and we've been thinking of naming it Jasper! Great name for a vehicle, I think.

Janet

I'm a proud grandpa for the 30th time. I think your boys get some of their smarts from their great grandfather. As he would say, "Thirty grandchildren and not a dummy in the bunch". Can't wait to get there and see you all.
Love, Dad

Janet, It's not fair to look so gorgeous with a two day old!!!

Can't wait to know his name.

Thank you for sending the new pictures. I
doubt if there is a happier family anywhere. The previous comments say everything and I can't think of a thing to add. The boys (also you and Aaron) look so happy and proud and you have good reason to be. I'm not surprised about Luke's comment about our bones. He has a mind like a sieve that retains everything he reads it seems.
Love, Bev

big time congrats are in order. i am actually sick to my stomach thinking you gave birth at home. OUCH. I am such a wimp when it comes to pain. I am so happy the birth is over for you. And i am glad I didn't know about your plan beforehand or I would have been worried sick about it. ok, enough about me.

WAAAAA-HOOOOO! Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures of your glowy family. Everyone of you is so wonderful. I want to give you all a hug and kiss. And Simon 10 kisses. Perfect name. I don't know HOW you came up with another good boy name. That deserves its own congrats on its own.

Yay yay. happy time!

Janet, Bev Olson forwarded your blog to me and I really enjoyed your birthing experience--you were rather brave, I would say. And do enjoy the new boy; we had six of them and I wouldn't have traded any for a girl. (It would have been fun to have one, but that's okay--I have great daughter-in law and a bunch of granddaughters. Take care; you have to be very special--Bev really loves you guys so much! Pauline
