I told him that somehow the baby had moved from his bouncer seat to the couch. Simon's head was literally hanging off the couch, but he was asleep and snoring like a bear. Aaron didn't really understand what I was saying or how the baby was situated, so I quickly got my camera and took a few shots. Considering the fact that the baby's head weighs more than the rest of his body, it's really a miracle he didn't fall off...

My first thought was Zack had moved him and couldn't carry him very far, so he left him hanging... but Zack has NEVER tried to pick up the baby before. When I asked him if he moved him, he said, "I don't know how to pick up the baby! I don't have strength for that!" I thought so. I quickly ruled out Luke because he was asleep when I placed the baby in the bouncer.. and that kid doesn't sleep walk.
Now all my fingers are pointing to Ben. When I showed him the pictures he laughed. When I asked if he laid Simon in that position, he was offended. "Why would I almost make him fall off the couch?" Good question. But seriously-- how did he get there?
After a thorough investigation, I decided that Ben must have moved him, but probably laid him facing forward up against one of the cushions. Then the baby must have flung himself forward and ended up like so. But how did he do it without falling off and WHY was he so darn comfortable? Some things we'll never know.....

Now that's a good question my friend, although when Macy was teeny she used to push her self any which way because she loved to have her head dangling off whatever she was on. I constantly had people telling me to support her head, as soon as I would, she would push her way back. Just a thought.
we thought about that yesterday.. and he very well could be a dangling head kind of baby. But I doubt he was able to move himself. He is the floppiest baby you will ever meet. He doesn't even try to hold up his head. We often wonder if he has some kind of muscle problem because this kid is dead weight. I love floppy babies though so he's my favorite..
When I say "I doubt he could move himself" I obviously meant scoot a few inches on the couch... I didn't mean hop off the bouncer and climb up on the couch. You catch my drift, I'm sure.
This grandmother is gasping and laughing at the same time! It's amazing they make it to adulthood!
Maybe a refresher course on the baby care for FHE is in order :). As I recall, we had several through the years.....I recall one in particular after a certain 7-year old put a pillow over the crying baby's face because it was too noisy :)! oooooh....
I'm so glad this story had a happy ending.
Definitely bizarre how comfortable he looks.
I think I just spit all over the computer screen. Thanks for the laugh and I'm glad he's OK!
If I hadn't have seen it, I wouldn't have believed it!!
Over the years you will get a LOT of unclaimed family "mysteries". We have a few at the Mastin house.
A back yard fence in total blaze, complete with fire department is one of them. Maybe Simon is like those moving rocks out in the desert?
i can't believe you took a picture! i'm nervous just looking at him, seriously my heart is pounding for you.
