absentee

Yes, we've been busy... girls weekends, holidays, visitors, shopping, etcetera etcetera. But let me be completely honest and show you the REAL reason I have been slacking on the blog:

We have FINALLY completed two ginormous puzzles. Both are 1000 pieces. I can now bear witness that not all 1000 piece puzzles are the same. The first one took us a little over a day to complete. The second one was an entire week. It was a doozy. When we finished we celebrated with an hour long dance party. Our necks had major crinks and our butts were sore for sitting for days on end, but we shook it off and felt relieved to have them done!! Have you ever worked on a puzzle so long that you fit pieces together when you close your eyes at night? I have.

I am not going to admit that I love winter, but I do enjoy it while it's here. Winter is a time for pajamas, hot chocolate, Christmas music, puzzles, cozy blankets, slippers and good stories. My favorite thing to do this time of year is curl up with a good book. I finished Pride and Prejudice last week and quickly picked up my all time favorite book Jane Eyre. I love Jane and tell my boys that she is my superhero fiction character. I want to be like her when I grow up.

We've been so busy puzzlin' and reading that we haven't watched a single Christmas movie or even put up our Christmas tree yet! That is happening today, my friends. It's a Wonderful Life, here we come!

Looks so fun! I miss those boys... I've already watched It's a Wonderful Life 4 times! Mom has it on every time I go home.

I haven't put a puzzle together in years. What a shame! I should remedy that, and soon! Anyway... mainly just chiming in to say CHEERS to another Jane Eyre fan. Jane is also my superhero fiction character. Best character ever created, imo. Definitely my favorite book ever.

Jen watched It's a Wonderful Life for the first time over Thanksgiving break with Mom and Dad. She said that she had never seen it and we were watching it within 30 seconds.

"I see it still smells like pine needles around here."
