They started on two ends of the island with their own mixers and the very same ingredients...
Zack kept the baby occupied with strawberries.
Simon "cleaned" the sliding glass door.
{And} helped pour in the chocolate chips.
Ben's cookies turned out darker and flatter... he was sure he had lost!
I think Luke added more chocolate chips, which is always a winning idea.
Daddy became the official judge...
When the results came in we were all shocked.
Although Luke's were prettier to look at,
Ben's ultimately won the taste test.
(we had neighbors vote too. Ben won 5-2).
Lesson learned: Don't judge a cookie until you've eaten it with your eyes closed.
We have lots of cookie dough in the fridge...
... come on over!
PS.
Don't tell my boys,
but I am definitely the best cookie maker in the family.

not this cute anymore!

SUCH a cute idea!!! :)
I check your blog first thing in the morning. Always have a laugh out loud or big smile. You are a betterMother than I was. I didn't have the patience to let the girls do things like that. You and family should have a reality show your days are so fun to read about.
You're the best cookie-maker in the world, I think. I've yet to have a chocolate chip cookie as good as the ones you made me. In fact, I'm considering moving back & moving away again just for another plate of them.
That is a HUGE compliment coming from you, Wendy. Thank you. And I am not sure why I was blessed with that talent, but I really can make some killer cookies. I can send you some in the mail!
