Sunday morning breakfast has never been so entertaining. Usually we are in a rush to get out the door, but today we had time to chill. Ben and Luke thought it would be a great idea to make a mixture bowl of every cold cereal we had in the house. This is something new for Ben because he has a hard time if any of his food is touching.. (and usually wants new milk if he's switching cereals) So, I let them have at it.. cocoa puffs, apple jacks, fruit loops, raisin bran, you name it...a little bit of everything. I doubt it tasted as good as they made it seem! But they were so excited and kept saying, "Oh, this is SO delicious!" Then they started doing tricks with their spoons and I had no idea Luke was eating with such an enormous spoon. Don't ask me how he got that in his mouth. Zack just played along and did whatever his brothers did. We all had a good laugh when Zack put his spook to his eye and said, "ARR! I Pirate!"
Last comment on my new self-improvement goals. While washing my face before bed last night, I was thinking about how easy it is to shower and get ready. I always used to say that I don't have time to do it. It's not that I didn't have time before, it's that I was lazy. The truth is, I do have the time and usually waste it doing something else. I need to be better at making myself a priority. My family is still most important to me, but if I don't take care of myself, I am not being the best mom/wife I can be... and teaching our children to have pride in themselves comes from being a good example. I don't believe it's vain or egotistical to care about how you look (as well as how your house looks..) Showering and getting ready for me takes a total of 30 minutes, tops. Who doesn't have that? Anyway, I hear it only takes 21 days to make a habit out of something, and I am going to stick with it..

not this cute anymore!

Matthias mixes his cold cereals too! A boy at heart still! Bummer for me that you are checking out for 7 days, I love reading your blog - but I am sure your media "cleanse" will be a good thing! Thanks for the email - I plan on calling once finals are over.
