If you are looking for a good sugar cookie recipe, this one is the BEST.. I promise. They are soft and scrumptious. They keep their shape in the oven AND you don't have to chill the dough before rolling it out. All in all, it's the best recipe I have found.. (and believe me, we've made them too many times.)

Then add:
1/2 c sour cream

We made a TON of sugar cookies and took them around to our neighbors.
Thanks to my mother-in-law who keeps me stalked with all kinds of Holiday cookie cutters.

This is about one third of what we made...
most of which were dinosaurs and animals, which were given to their friends...
I tried to talk them into doing only Christmas cookies, but there are no RULES when making sugar cookies.
Maybe just one-- don't eat too many!

Decorating was an absolute mess-- especially with 3 kids anxious to help, but they turned out cute. Ben was Mr. Helpful with the sprinkles, but every once in a while, he got carried away!

not this cute anymore!

If you say something works...it probably will! Thanks for the recipe! (I tried the bread bowls...they were AWESOME!)
those cookies are so CUTE. And I am laughing at all the sprinkles caked on the cookies in the last shot!
