Walking with Dinosaurs

Our field trip this week was totally Out of this WORLD!
And I am not exaggerating here. I woke the kids up early and told them to put on their best dinosaur shirts because we were going back in time! We loaded up in our Time Machine (the minivan) and took off! Unfortunately, I made a few wrong turns and ended up on the other side of town. Ben asked why it was taking SO long to get there and I responded with, "HELLO!! We are traveling back in time 100 million years... and I am not driving a rocket ship here!" That kept them quite for a few minutes. Luckily, we arrived just before the show began.

It was an INcredible show (to say the least!) and we were SO lucky to be in the best seats-- front and center... on the 5th row! I thought I was going to pee my pants! Seriously, the hairs were standing up on the back of my neck. Ben and Luke were so giddy and loved every minute of it. Zack liked it, until the T-Rex tried to bite his head off. There were quite a few kids around us that were freaking out. I overheard Ben say to Luke, "I bet everyone crying in here is a GIRL!" That made me laugh.

My little men in their dino shirts.

The highlights of the day were:

■ Ben naming each dinosaur before the narrator... and he was so excited and was practically screaming each name!

■ Zack saying "AWESOME" at least 20 times.. he really wants to be like his big brothers!

■ Luke telling me (at the end of the show) "You're the BEST mom that I've ever had!"

I felt really bad that Aaron couldn't join us on our adventure. It sucks that he has to work for a living!! It was 100% his idea to buy the tickets and I ended up taking all the credit (and having all the fun.) Too bad, so sad. Here is one last video that we took from our camera. The highlight of the Tyrannosaurus' performance was just after I stopped recording... but I had to cut it because Zack had me around my neck so tight, I thought I was going to choke. He was really scared, or in his language, "willy cared!"

My turn to be the first to comment! You weren't kidding with the live experience! That was awesome. Ben and Luke must have been in heaven! Love the dino shirts. They look so cute. Wish I could have joined you for the fun!

I wanted to take Brinley to that when they came to Spokane, but the timing was bad and i didn't have the money to spend on it...That looked like so much fun. Your an awsome mom!

Audrey and I got to see it when it was in Spokane and agree - it was awesome! She wanted so desperately to buy the dino slippers in the gift shop afterwards. She's loved dinosaurs since she was very little. I love reading your blog. I came across it from Arah's blog and have been addicted since. We sure miss having your family in our ward. You guys were great!

Arah- I should have posted that the main reason we went during the day (without Aaron) is because the matinee tickets were only $15... there's no way I could have purchased full priced tickets. I think our seats were the $110 tickets.. as if I could EVER do that.

Sam- great to hear from you! I can totally see why Audrey would love this show. Does she still love pirates and Titanic? I really miss all the YW! It is a great ward!

Janet, you're the coolest mom ever!! Who would have thought you'd be lugging around 3 boys to "awesome" dino shows and loving every minute of it. Wish I could have been there with you!

Audrey still totally loves pirates. Here room is a shrine to anything pirate. (She recently remodeled it for a YW project and to take after her dad on the building side of things). PS my email is sam@cet.com if you want to chat more.

How fun. You were meant to be the mother of boys. That looks like a blast. Thanks again for the talk this week. I was about to give in to Jake before I called you. He has already improved so much! He went about 8 hours last night before getting up to eat. It was amazing. Thanks for the pep talk. You're amazing.

That show looks so fun! Ethan sat and watched your video clips over and over again! I wish it would come back to Spokane--didn't know about it when it was here. I need to be more like you and find out about the fun stuff going on around our town and take the kiddos. You are so awesome and we miss you guys!
