DA Day.

I was SO looking forward to the American Idol finale.. and was a little bummed when I realized I was hosting book club (for Jane Eyre) with friends. But hey-- who says you can't have your cake and eat it too? We talked a little about Mr. Rochester and then watched the finale.. AND the Maria Carey week.. AND THEN their performances on Andrew Lloyd Webber week.. It was a late night, but not one of our famous 2 am parties. We had planned to watch P.S. I love you, but American Idol is definitely more important... It reminded me of the good old BYU days when we would squish in our 600 sq/ft apartments at Wyview to watch Kelly and Justin.

Now.. if you want to know how I felt about the finale.. I was NOT a fan of the lame boxing match.. but whatever. David Archuleta kicked butt and DESERVES the title, hands down. He is amazing and was so composed (and so cute!) I was a little bummed that Cook didn't bring his A-game, but that doesn't mean I love him any less. He totally brings out the rocker in me and I cannot wait for his career to take off. But little Archie should be proud of himself and what he has accomplished. He really sounded incredible and THIS is what the show is all about! I am sad that the season is over, but all good things must come to an end.

So glad the Bachelorette is starting so I have something to watch on TV.
I know, I am a sinner. Don't judge me.

That looks like so much fun. Jane Eyre is my all time favorite book, so I was bummed that I missed it. We are in Utah, again. We decided to come up for a week since Jon has time off for Memorial day. I wish I could have been there. Hopefully you didn't miss me too much! :)

Ok, the boxing thing WAS totally lame! I tried to get my husband to complain about it with me last night and he was indifferent. Archuletta did kick butt, but I do still loooove Cook. Aside from wanting to stay loyal to the hometown hero, I have no idea who I want to win.

i agree... david a. blew cook out of the water. i think cook let him win. what rocker wants to be labelled an american idol. way too pop-like for the rock star image. david a will do great. hopefully he can still serve a mission too. he's gonna have a huge contract to fulfill! i loved the finale... so much fun. wish i could have watched with your fun group of girls!!! you guys have so much fun!

I didn't like the whole boxing thing either. Lame is right. I can't wait for tonight! I voted for David Achulets because I love him! I do have to say that I really like David Cook, he has grown on me. I'll be happy for whoever wins tonight. Really whoever doesn't win isn't walking away a loser, right?

It was a fun night. And I'm glad I'll have someone to talk to about the Bachelorette, my guilty pleasure. I just set it to record today. Yeahaw!

That was a great party, Janet. I'm glad we watched American Idol instead of the movie, and I'm glad you kept all of the previous episodes so I could see some of the great performances.

I'm not so excited about this Bachelorette. I liked Jenny way better than DeAnna. I'll probably get hooked on it just the same.

Yeah, the boxing thing was WAY over the top. It was a fun night though--I agree that Archie was better (finally you see what I have been obsessing over)...but as you will read on my blog, I'm 100% cool with how things turned out.

Oh, and I'm totally judging you.
