We just returned from a 10 day "vacation" that seemed more like 10 weeks. Ben walked in the door and yelled, "Home Sweet Home!" which made us all laugh. Luke made sure to point out that we traveled through Nevada, Arizona, ALL of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and back.. it was quite the trip and we don't want to do it again! We are all so exhausted and for some reason, blogging my pictures seems more important than unloading suitcases or feeding my kids dinner... hmm.. I know where my priorities are. But I don't feel guilty about being on the computer because Aaron has been watching Wimbledon highlights since we got home. We are ALL wiped out!! But that doesn't mean we didn't have a GOOOOOD time! Here are just a FEW pictures of our trip.

We were lucky enough to plan our trip around Tyson Buck's baby shower/BBQ. We love Ty and Crystal for many reasons.. most recently because they took care of Aaron while he finished his last class in Portland. They just had a beautiful baby girl and we were so happy to meet her! And we finally got to see Mike and Angie Cox and their four girls! Their twins are so adorable.. Mike and Ty were throwing them across the yard and they were LOVING it! Annie Mc and her husband Mike cruised over on his motorcycle.. and it was SO great to see them (as always) even if she didn't bring her kids! I love this crowd and always look forward to getting together with them! Hopefully it won't be another 2 years before we see each other again!

Can't make a trip to WJ without seeing my GIRLS! I love them and I HATE that they ALL live so close to each other and always get together without me! I am so looking forward to our weekend Park City vaca and our HS reunion.. it's already been TEN years! (and we still look as good as ever! Dang!)

Our last night we spent with Aaron's sisters in Provo. We only took pictures of the boys playing in the water out front.. they practically lived in their swimsuits and just couldn't get enough!

It was so much fun to spend some time in Provo.. our old stompin' ground. We took the kids to our tiny Wyview apartment, (which they found rather UN-fascinating) and to the Bean Museum (stuffed, taxidermy animals)-- which was MUCH more exciting. The only way we could persuade them to leave the museum was with a yummy ice cream cone! It was fun/random to run into my CUZ Missy who just happened to recognize us through the window! Sorry we couldn't stop by your place, Missy! So much to do, so little time!
There are more pictures, but this is what made the cut. I need a few days to recover before Ben's Birthday Bash and the 4th of July. Summer is HOT and busy!! Just the way I like it! June just FLEW by, didn't it??ps. The photo collages are done through a FREE, very user-friendly program called PHOTOSCAPE. You can add text, borders, you name it. I typically use the PAGE tab... resize the collage to make it bigger (numbers next to the walnut pic) and then hit the edit tab to add text. Super easy... you can't go wrong..

not this cute anymore!

The pictures are so amazing! Thanks for sharing. How do you get them in such great scrapbook styles?
Glad you made it home safe! Good pics. I'm bummed I missed out on your movie night and I didn't get to see Aaron. Where did June go?? I'm depressed summer is going by so fast... now try to catch up on some sleep because I know you didn't sleep at all!
Wow. I can't believe seeing those pictures of Tyson and Mike and Annie. It makes me feel so grown up to see the people I grew up with having families! Crazy. what a fun trip. Wish I was going to WJ this summer.
Glad you had such a good trip.
Ugh, long trips make me crazy - but it looks like you had a super fun one. I can't get over how so many of your siblings' kids look like minature versions of themselves. And SO fun seeing pictures of a bunch of our old wardies and getting their updates. When did we all grow up so much?? Like I think you've said once, sometimes I just feel like a big poser playing house.
I just think it's funny that in the pic of you and WJ friends, you're missing a child... could he be the fast-moving feet behind/between Annie and Tyson's wife? Hilarious.
Zack was fast asleep when the picture was taken.. He was sick at the BBQ and had just thrown up all over. That's why he's not pictured :)
Annie has two little ones.. A blonde, blue-eyed 3 year old girl (Alivia) and a one year old son (Andrew) who looks just like a McArthur.. he's pretty dark and they look nothing like siblings. I tried talking her into starting a blog.. It's so much easier to keep in touch!
wow... you were gone for 10 days?! I never would have known. You are so good at keeping up with blogging! Looks like you had a great time! I think that family vacations should immediately be followed by a couple's weekend getaway without the kids. Family vacations are so fun... but so EXHAUSTING! I didn't think I'd want to go to Disneyland again, after this last trip, but I'm already planning another trip next year!
I love your pics. It looks like you guys had a ton of fun. What are you doing for Ben's b-day on Friday? Katelyn can't wait for hers. Remember they were born on the same day? Is he turning 8? What a big birthday!!!!!
Julie-- Ben is turning 7. Is Katelyn a year older? We LOVE having a July Fourth baby! How can you have a birthday like that and NOT celebrate? He's been planning his party for months.. so it's gonna be fun!
Brandy- I am SO terrible about planning trips. I always make them too long and with SO much squished in.. and then I am cursing myself on the way home... and before my bags are unpacked, I am planning the next one. It's a curse-- how do I stop?
My Goodness..it looks like you guys had a great time. I love all the pictures. How to you put the text and different size images together? When I use Picaso, it only let's me us the same size picture and I don't think I can do text. What program do you use?
Missed ya bloggin...glad your back :) Have a great week!
Karlene and Krista,
The Photo Collages are NOT done through Picasa, but through a free software program called photoscape. I have a link at the bottom of this post.. or you can google it and download it on your computer.
So you make it to Provo but don't take the extra 30 mins to come up and see the Poulsens? I see how it is!!! Just kidding Janet, I'm glad you guys had a good trip. We would love to come down and see you as soon as we have a lil more time and some money in our bank!
LOVe Ben's not so photogenic pictures. I laughed out loud.. like I always do reading your blog! so glad you're back!
It was great to see you even thought I was bummed I had to go to youth conference. I wish we could have chatted longer that morning. But really...I got to see you 3 times while you were here...not bad.
Glad your back home safe. Home SWEET home.
I wish we would have been able to make the park thing work. Sorry I missed you on your trip here. Maybe next time.
