Another week has passed and October is almost over! Where does the time go? This morning we went for a bike ride with shorts and tees and by the end we were all sweaty and tired. When we go into the house and drank cold glasses of ice water, Luke said, "It sure feels like summer out there!" And it does. It's hard to get excited for Halloween when you'd rather jump in swimming pool, ya know?
Lukey had an exciting weekend... he lost his first tooth!. I have been saying for about a week now that it's ready to come out.. and it finally did in the middle of Sacrament meeting! There we were, sitting all nicely and reverently in church when it decided to pop out. We were laughing pretty hard because we didn't have a place to put it or a kleenex for Luke's bloody mouth. Aaron ended up putting it in a Sacrament cup and keeping it in his pocket.
Luke has a cute hole in his smile and I have a feeling tooth #2 will quickly follow suit. I was told that babies who get teeth early are quicker to lose them, but children who get their teeth late, lose them late. This was definitely true for Ben. He had four teeth at four months old and lost a mouthful in his 5th year. Luke on the other hand, didn't get teeth until he was a toddler. Seriously, he was probably 14 months old before his first teeth popped through, but he is losing them at the same time that Ben did. So that theory was proven wrong by our boys... FYI, I heard a cool trick to pulling out teeth is putting baby Oragel on the gum before you pull. Pretty tricky. We obviously weren't using it during church, but may need to apply it to get #2 out.
Anyway, our house has been CRAZY the past few days. Our guest room has literally been a revolving door with people coming in and out. I decided to get it painted before the REALLY crazy Holiday visiting time. I bought the green paint that I wanted, but when I painted it on the walls it was so drab and ugly.. much darker than I wanted. Instead of going out and buying a new color, I decided to mix my own up. I added a bit of mustard orange-ish color with some lighter tan and got the perfect army colored green. I am very happy with how it turned out. The only problem I had was that I didn't mix enough paint for the whole room! Aaron was teasing me that I would never be able to match the color, but I did.. without any problems. I asked him to tell where the old color ended and the new color started and he couldn't find it... so I was quite proud. Again, I kinda forgot to take before pictures, so here are a few in the middle of the process..

and the aftermath...
Last but NOT LEAST. While I was uploading pictures for this post, I received some very sad news... Jessie Cline, a dear friend of mine, was killed yesterday in a fatal car accident. He was driving with three other people when his car was struck by a drunk driver. He died Sunday, Oct. 19th. The funeral will be on Thursday morning in Oregon (where his parents live.) I have picture and more information to post, but for now, here are a couple of newspaper articles reporting the crash.

not this cute anymore!

sorry to hear about your friend. I hope that the rest of the passengers are okay...
Your painting job looks fabulous and the color turned out really nice.
Brinley can't wait to lose teeth, but i don't think it will be anytime soon. She was one of those that got her teeth late also, the first one at 13 months. She gets jealous of those who are in her class and have teeth missing.
I feel terible about Jesse. This is the first I heard about it. Pretty Terrible. I hate drunk drivers. No matter what kind of mood I was in, Jesse is one of those people that could always make me smile.
So sad to hear about Jesse too. :( You are certainly a great source for up-to-the-minute information, though!
Arah all four passengers in the car died on the scene of the accident.. but the drunk driver survived and has been arrested for manslaughter.
Becky I am SO glad you found me. Everyone else.. the wallace family is the LONG, LOST BECKY VALLET! She's alive at last! So fun to keep in touch this way.
Phil I was looking for your email address this morning so I could forward the newspaper articles. So glad you were able to get the news on the blog. Jessie was such a sweetheart and we are all going to miss him, but he's in a better place and is finally able to be whole and himself! I smile just thinking about him. He always loved you, Phil... you were such a good friend to him.
ps. this is totally random, but I had a dream about you the other night. It was WAY back in Elementary school days and we were burying something in the Oquirrh playground dirt area. Anyway, in the morning, I was brushing my teeth and said something to my husband about dreaming about you. Before I could get anything else out, Aaron cut me off by saying, "Oh yeah. I had a dream about Cindy Crawford." Of course, I cracked up, but I think secretly he's threatened by you... ever since you made it into our wedding video he's so jealous every time I talk about you! funny.
Thanks for the phone call. So sad to hear about Jesse. I hate drunk drivers. and Phil comments?? and Becky Valet!!
Luke (Youk, as Vaughn would say) looks so cute with his missing tooth, and the paint job looks fantastic!
Ah-mazing paint job in the guest room. looks so cozy in there!
I actually saw the horrible story of your friend on the Boise news this morning. What a heartbreaking accident.
The room looks great! I don't know why you always say you have no decorating skills...you are SO talented!
hey, love that green, and so sorry to hear this new, ironically i got the exact same news about a friend here last week, only my friend was killed in the provo canyon three months ago.....i was one of the last people to find out i guess. it's disturbing to get this news, so i am very sorry! glad your house is coming along.
That is so sad about Jessie- how heartbreaking for his family.
Seriously impressed by the "self-mixed" green paint.
Love, love, love the green color. You are way better at decorating than you thought you would be. Congrats to Luke on the lost tooth...Kelly's getting hers as Luke is losing his. And I'm very sorry for your friend and his family. I read one of the news articles. So devastating. Love you, Janet Lee!
Oh...how horrible! I hadn't heard about Jessie. Thanks for the news, though it makes me feel sad. I remember him well. Wow.
And the green looks awesome! The room I'm sitting in right now is a very similar green. I love it!
It was so much fun seeing you guys while in Vegas...even though I am perplexed on why we can't beat you guys at OUR OWN card game.
I think your proposition 8 post was perfectly presented. The comments you received are expected. There seems to be division in everything. I think it's more important now than ever to stand up for what you know is right, even in times where people will view you as intolerant and a hate monger. You wrote the post in a way that there wasn't a tone of contention or negative feelings, you just stated what you believe. I think it's everyones responsibility to voice what they believe to be right and stand up for it. You're the best!!!
I'm sorry to hear about your friend. My heart and prayers go out to you and his family.
The paint job looks great. You did a good job!
Janet-
Just stopped in to say hello again! I hope you are feeling better. The paint color is great! I agree about the election, by the way, I don't like either of them and I don't know what to do!! I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend. Love to you!
Wow! Your life is so busy. I don't know how you get any time for blogging or showering for that matter. I only wish I had the ambition to paint.
I can't believe about Jesse. He was so funny. He used to stalk Jamie Taylor in Orem. Oh man. That is so sad.
Thanks for posting the news about Jessie. I feel so bad for his family. I ran into him a few ears ago and got to catch up a little bit.
Ah, the good old days of Sunday School. Remember those? I will chuckle forever.
Sorry, I have been away for a bit. That is so sad about Jessie! I loved that kids smile! Thank you for sharing. I never would have known.
Great job on the paint!
I like that color too!
Did Karlin say she hates 'Phil comments and Becky Vallet'? I think Becky is really nice... That is a funny dream - what were we burying? Probably some kind of treasure - we should go dig it up and cash in. Do you remember the exact location? Think hard because it is really important.
Tell Aaron thanks for comparing me to Cindy Crawford - I do have a mole on my face and am sort of like a super model...
My email address is philwolfgramm@gmail.com
p.s. Your blog is pretty entertaining. Keep up the good work.
I like the color of your walls! I would have never of thought to add the mustard color. That is so sad about your friend.
I'm sorry about your friend, Janet. Accidents are the worst because they are so unexpected.
I also love the green. I want to paint William's new room a color very similar to that. And I'm still going to come over and see your house in person.
Janet I just barley read that about Jessie Cline! I can't believe that! Wow that's too bad.
But hey I just found this new song and I don't know if you have heard it or not, but I can't listen to it without thinking of you! You would love it! I just know you would. But maybe you've already heard it... It's a duet by Jason Mraz and Regina Spektor, it's called Lucky. It's just reminds me of you every time I hear it. And I NEED you to listen to it.
I love you!!
Hello long lost friends that I've found through Janet' blog! Feel free to blog stalk me to reconnect! Blog stalking is awesome! That's how I found Janet's blog...Janet still totally rocks! (In fact, she might rock the house all the way down).
Becky
I didn't know you had a blog! I just found it on Ashley Bailey's. The paint looks great!!!
