Blogging never used to be hard for me. I would sit down, spit something out, post a few pictures and leave it at that. Now it seems like I am weeks behind on things that I've wanted to report and I just don't know where the time has gone. My best guess is that I am trying to organize a house, take care of, feed AND homeschool kids (and keep them from killing each other.) Motherhood is not for wimps! Anyway, I have about 30 minutes before we head to the park, so I am going to give it my best shot.
First of all... WHAT are you going to do about the election? I am seriously stressed OUT about it! Is this what it feels like to be a grown up? I honestly do NOT know what to do. I realize that it's important to vote, but I am completely undecided. I cannot make up my mind. I was practically taking notes during the recent debates. I agree with a lot of what McCain has to say but frankly, I can't stand to hear him talk. It's as though he is already doing a SNL skit of himself.. He's just so old and so annoying. I don't think I can handle him as Prez. Don't you think he'll die in office? He can't possibly live FOUR more years! And, not to rude, but hasn't someone told him he needs to whiten his teeth? I mean, if he has 12 mansions and $$$ coming out his ears, then get some dentures, MY FRIEND. Why isn't his hot wife forcing Crest strips on those bananas? On a lighter note, what is going on with the economy? Is anyone else freaking out here? At night, I just lay in bed and try to breath in and out. I remind myself that we are doing the best we can. My kids are alive, my husband is a hard worker and will provide for us, but still! I am stressing about HOW we are actually going to live off our food storage. I don't know how to cook with that stuff!
Secondly... our car was indeed stolen. Someone took it for a hayride, ripped it apart, and left it on a busy street 45 minutes from our house. It's a sad story. It was an old car and we were no longer driving it.. so life goes on, but it's still unfortunate. It was towed to a junk yard and when Aaron went to check it out, the towing company wanted over $800 to reclaim it. Sorry, but without a stereo, speakers, tires, door panels... it's not worth that much. :) We handed over the title and said goodbye. We had an interested buyer, (it was a great car!) but with all our craziness, we just didn't make it a priority. Anyway, too bad. I will post pictures and an obituary later on. I am sure you can't wait. Just sit by your computer and keep refreshing my page..
Thirdly... I am exhausted. I really am tired. I love my life, but sometimes I just want to pause everyone and everything and take a breather. Where is that universal remote control when you need it?! I wake up with TONS of energy, ready to take on the day.. but by noon, I want to throw in the towel. Life is hard! Homeschooling is wonderful but sometimes I wonder if I am doing the right/best thing for my kids. They are so smart, but they are becoming such nerds! And they want to TALK to me all day long! I love talking.. but not about boy stuff. Am I crazy trying to do all of this? My husband thinks so, but the thought of them sitting in a desk all day learning the alphabet just stresses me out. I really don't know what to do. I feel like I am going in circles about the issue.. and all I want to do is call fellow homeschooling moms, but where is the time??
Fourthly... Well, it is probably still connected with my last point, but I am sick of feeling sick. I am honestly doing whatever I can and I just can't get over this hurdle! I am eating well and exercising faithfully, but I haven't felt good in what seems like forever. My clothes are tight and I am not willing to buy a bigger size. Maybe I should just get out my maternity clothes and pretend I am pregnant. Positive thinking right? I am really okay with the fact that there isn't a baby joining the family, but I wish I had an answer to WHY I always feel like crap. And why I look like crap. This is not to get sympathy (please don't give it.) but Aaron took a picture of me the other night and it was pathetically hilarious. I shouldn't have deleted it, because you would have enjoyed it too. I honestly looked like I was 60 years old-- wrinkles, bags under my eyes, double chin, fat rolls.. you name it. As soon as Aaron took it, he said, "Whoa, you are NOT going to like this." I will try to look just as ugly and take it again :) But it didn't surprise me, because that is exactly how I feel. This week I started a Candida detox. I am really hoping it helps, not with weight issues, but just my overall health. I am on day #3 of only drinking lemonade.. I am supposed to go ten days to cleanse my system, and it's actually okay so far. I am not jumping hurdles or anything, but I am feeling pretty good.
Fifthly.. My time is running out... I have a few pictures to upload. We went on a family hike on Monday and it was a good time. For those of you who live in Vegas and haven't taken your kids up the mountain at the Discovery Park, you need to. It's about a 30 minute hike, but at the top you can see all of Las Vegas Valley and there is a platform-ish area for you to hang out.. with picnic tables, etc. We had our FHE lesson up there and it was heavenly. While hiking up, I realized (for the millionth time) how great it is to be with the people I love and away from everything that doesn't matter to me.
I am loving this weather. I always miss the fall leaves and all the color that this time of year brings, but Vegas is definitely beautiful.
Three major things happened on the hike. 1. Zack fell down because he was running like a mad-man. Surprise, surprise. 2. Luke's pants fell down all the way to his ankles. hilarious. I don't have it on video, but I pulled my camera out seconds after it happened. He wasn't phased by it, but you can see his reaction click HERE. 3. We found a snake on the trail. It wasn't any old garden snake.. it was a long sucker!

Oh, and just as we were leaving, Zack peed his pants. Aaron was thrilled that we decided to drive his new car rather than the stinky old minivan.
Sixthly.. (and finally.) I am sorry about neglecting everyone's emails, phone calls and blogs. I can't keep up. There are too many people to love and there's just not enough time in the world. Which has me wishing again for that universal remote. Where art thou Christopher Walken?
No kidding.. this is exactly what I looked like the other night [with just a tad more freckles.] Husband, vouch for me. Let it be your one comment for the month..Well, ladies and one gentleman. That's all we have time for, typos and all. God be with you till we meet again.

not this cute anymore!

i laughed out loud SEVERAL times reading your post...you KNEW you were being so funny. just admit it.
i'll tell you what got me rolling with laughter so you know to use that kind of material more often...

ok sorry to copy and paste a huge section. but i thought it was important to know i will read and re-read this section and laugh and smile. good comedy janet.
also-
"Just sit by your computer and keep refreshing my page.."
and this is classic-
"Whoa, you are NOT going to like this."
and the christopher walken photo is totally spooky. just in time for halloween.
sorry again for posting what you already posted but you always want to know what makes me laugh. there you have it.
p.s. i just re-read about mccain's bananas....yep, it got me again. i must be in a good mood.
p.p.s i just re-read aaron's comment about your photo and practically spit on the computer.
You are normal and that is why everyone loves coming here. You seem like you handle the stress well, but let it out when you need to! Your a great mom and wife and things will work out.
I was laughing out loud while reading your first point and then I had to read it to my husband, who was wondering why I was laughing... I totally agree, this is a tough election and I really don't know who to vote for either. There is bad on both sides. May God help us make the right decision.
Your kids are darling!
*shaking my head in disbelief* Even when you're complaining about how hard life can be, you're still perfect. Simply because you're so stinkin' honest and normal and I just love you for it. Glad I'm not the only one who feels forever sick and tired by the time lunch is over. Hang in there...because you rock.
Oh, and I have to give you the most FABULOUS quote that I love. I'll email it to you, if I can find an email address for you.
I'm with Val, you had me rollin'. I agree about the McCain factor. I'm not really for Obama, but I am secretly hoping he wins so that I don't have to hear McCain speak for the next 4 years. I cringed every time he said "my friends"...which was like every two seconds.
I wish that I were a doctor and could diagnose you. I've done the Candida cleanse before and have also taken some herbal pill for it...can't remember the name...are you doing that as well? It seemed to help. Can't wait to hang with you in Vegas next month! I sure think you're special (not the 'stop eating the paste, Janet' kind of special).
Tiff-- we disagree on more than just the Twilight series. I hope you are teasing about the Obama remarks. I don't take personal offense to any of it because he's not an IDEAL candidate, but he is far from the next Hitler. Hearing Palin and McCain campaign in this way is completely uncalled for and it's the LAST thing our country needs right now.
I'm sorry about your car, Janet. I've heard that Hondas and Toyotas are big targets for car thiefs (theives?). We park one of our Toyotas in the driveway, so I'm waiting for our day to come.
I was like you about the presidential candidates - I wasn't going to vote, but I think I've finally made my choice. I don't think Obama is the next Hitler, but I have seen him say a few things that are very scary to me. The basic gist of some of his comments is that God does not belong in government. McCain is not my favorite person, but I think he actually takes a moral stand on a few things. With Obama, I really don't know, but from what I've seen, I don't think he wants morality tied to government. That is frightening to me. That's just my two cents. I hope it makes sense. And I hope you can figure out what choice you want to make.
Whoa. Deep and hilarious in one post. I keep thinking I might post something about the election from the perspective of someone living outside the US, but don't know if I should. I have some strong feelings on the subject matter. Thanks Jan for saying what you did about Obama, being a liberal and a terrorist are not the same thing. ;)
Amelia, I would love to hear your take on the elections. I have read several reports from outside the country and would be very interested in what you have to say.
I am waiting by my computer, just refreshing your blog page....
oh my gosh, i can totally relate, i have a million pictures on my desktop i STILL haven't blogged yet, time gets away from ya fast. still love your blog though, i can never get enough of it, too entertaining.
Oh my, Oh my that was a lot to take in. First of all... I'm sorry your so tired. I am too... maybe that is the life of a mother. I keep thinking I'm pregnant because I'm so tired but I'm not... just taking care of sick kids and husband. Are you really second guessing homeschooling?? And the election... scary and I don't like McCain but I really don't like Obama. You aren't really considering Obama are you? Jason is obsessed right now with watching the news channels and all he wants to talk about is the economy! What is going to happen? Is this the sign of the times or what? I need to get more prepared. Jason is feeling pressure because it effects his industry hugely and he can't even move. We need MITT ROMNEY!!
your put crest white strips on those bananas made me laugh out loud. I'm feeling like the, "I need a break" mode too. We're in the middle of moving (in with the Redder Family) and I am feeling a little stressed with everything else. Wouldn't it be so fun to get all you girl sisters/cousins together one evening and just laugh? I would love something like that. i think we're coming to vegas for thanksgiving. Don't know if you'll be around, but we'd love to see you guys.
This is why I love to read your blog.
It's no coincidence that those who tend to know a lot about politics and the world are voting for Obama. Those who tend more toward emotion in making this decision (and those who enjoy themselves a conspiracy theory!) vote for McCain.
YOU won't find someone you agree with on 100% of the issues unless YOU are running for office. Who will best serve the interests of the citizens of our country and who will best represent tolerance and intelligence to the world?
I don't agree with Obama's abortion stand. I don't agree with McCain's Iraq, economy, and health care stands. I also agree with your robot-like speeches and $$$ elitism comments. Which issues will affect the welfare of more around the world? (Is continuing to kill troops and civilians in Iraq in order to declare a U.S. "win" more ethical than not deciding for a slim margin of women on the fate of their unborn babies?)
HAVE I SAID TOO MUCH???? My bad. :)
Janet....you need to talk to Stan the Man about the economy and politics...he is so well informed and practical! Obama is basically a socialist, although no one in the limelight dares say that...what's with that?! Take a look at socialistic societies...not bad in theory, but they don't work. Business and industry need to be supported to stimulate the economy, provide jobs, and allow for choice. They do not need to be highly taxed (they'll take their money and their business elsewhere) and neither does the working American. Take a look at Fox news now and then...the old major networks are very slanted and liberal; Fox tries to be balanced. I think McCain and Palin need to be in the Whitehouse; put Mitt Romney in as chief economic advisor and let him get the economy back into shape; let McCain choose the next Supreme Court justices and keep earmarks/pork out of government; and let the VP look out for you and me, and I believe things will turn around rather quickly and the USA will be back stronger. Everyone wants to blame Bush for the mess the economy is in, when, in reality, the Democratic congress allowed this to happen...a president does not work alone, and Bush's hands were tied by the congress his entire term. I didn't mean to go on and on, but once I got started......and this is just the tip of the iceberg. OK, enough armchair politics....
PS....let's talk about the homeschooling issues you're having over Thanksgiving. You have done a marvelous job thus far...remember that!
Love, Mom Shums
I get you on the homeschooling thing. The homeschooling itself is fun. I love learning together. But having Audrey home all day talking to me, makes me insane sometimes. She goes to school one day a week, and it's amazing how rejuvenating that day is. If they offered two days, I think it would be perfect. But the thought of her in school at 4 years old for 6 hours every day, plus homework, makes me crazy. This weekend I realized I wasn't really taking time to refill my pitcher, and thought of E. Ballard's talk. So I'm going to try and get to the gym 1-2 times a week (our YMCA has free child care), even if all I feel up to doing is 10 minutes on the treadmill, and a nice shower. Also, I'm setting up babysitting swaps with friends. I think as a homeschooling Mom we need even more self care, since we don't get breaks the same way.
I also realized I wasn't going to bed early enough and reading my scriptures consistently. So I'm doing better about that. I get the sick thing to. Fibro is primarily a sleeping disorder, so I wake up exhausted, my eyes burning, body aching, wondering how I'll make it through the next hour, but somehow, do. I think when you don't feel rested our physically healthy it's harder. I constantly have to slow down, cancel activities, reasses, and try and shoot for quality not quantity. A constant learning process.
Stan the Man and I do not agree on politics. I think Fox news is the most off balance news station there is-- it's completely Republican and only seems to report one side. Calling Obama a socialist is going too far, that's why the only people who basically say that are reporters for Fox news. Palin is a cute lady and I would love to talk to her on the sideline of a soccer game, but I don't know if I feel comfortable with her in the White House..
So glad I still have a couple of weeks to make my decision. I think I am voting for Ron Paul.
Hilarious post. :) The political debate going on in the comments is interesting also. I reluctantly made my decision, but Ron Paul is still a tempting alternative because really, how hilarious would it be to have that guy in the white house?
And I totally agree with Karlin - MITT ROMNEY where are you?
Janet, if Obama supports socialist program after socialist program, how is he not a socialist? Socialism is when a government has universal control over social programs (like healthcare, schools, etc.) which programs Obama has said he supports over and over again (national healthcare, universal preschool, etc.). How is that not socialist? "Socialist" seems like a dirty word, that's why a lot of people don't use it, but it's what some people believe is best for this country and that's the reason they support Obama.
I happen to disagree with them because although socialism makes everything "fair", it kills the American dream of starting with nothing and becoming something. Also, instead of individuals taking care of one another with their free choice, the government forces us to give them our money so they can take care of everyone for us, in ways we may not agree with. You can't call it charity if there's no choice to give or not give.
Just my opinions--you can disagree with them but it's fun for me to voice them.
As for homeschool, I can't count the number of times I was ready to throw in the towel. I'm so glad I didn't give up! Sticking with my decision has been worth it. I prayed about it everytime I got discouraged. You might find that the spirit will give you a different answer. Do what it guides you to do and you'll find peace.
Okay I might have been strong with the Hilter comment.
Refresh it up Janet, I did it for you.
Okay, I'm commenting again. I was thinking about the comment Paula made, "Is continuing to kill troops and civilians in Iraq in order to declare a U.S. "win" more ethical than not deciding for a slim margin of women on the fate of their unborn babies?" I just read an article in the Ensign by Elder Nelson and he states that over 40 million abortions are performed worldwide each year. His source also states that of those, one million are performed in the U.S. From what I can find online, 4,180 troops have died during the 5 1/2 years of the Iraq war and anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 civilian deaths. Not to minimize the sacrifice those troops or civilians have made AT ALL, but it is a far cry from one million abortions PER YEAR.
Thanks for your commment Kristen (I agree. I also read that article a few days ago and found it very interesting). Janet, your 30 minute post has stirred up a lot of discussion! Can I give you a little bit of the non-homeschooling perspective? I care deeply about my childrens' education just like you do and I looked into different programs before enrolling my son in a SPICE (student parent interactive classroom environment) program at a school here. I have LOVED it. They encourage parents to volunteer in the classroom and I go every week for a few hours. The kids are NOT mindless drones sitting at their desks reciting ABCs. The teachers are amazing (I've learned a lot about different teaching styles from them). I know Vegas probably offers great programs like this - even ones that would fit with how advanced your boys are. I just don't want you to think that sending them to school is horrible and it makes you a BAD mom who couldn't hack it. My son is very happy and LOVES school!
A tiny bit about politics: Just vote for who you agree with on most of the issues. It would be a shame to NOT vote for someone just because of the way they look or speak. I love to hear Obama speak most of the time, but your MIL is right, many of his ideas ARE socialistic (not that socialism in a perfect world is a BAD thing. I mean what do you think the Law of Consecration is?) But the difference is that we don't live in a perfect world and a law like that can only work well with a perfect leader. But his socialistic (or government regulated, if you perfer) views are not the only reason I wouldn't vote for him. It's his basic beliefs about gay-marriage and abortion and his lack of experience that scare me too.
Try not to worry too much about this economic crisis we are in right now. My Bro is on a mission in Mexico and he wrote that if you want to see a real economic crisis, then go down there and take a visit. Don't stress the stuff that is out of your control.
Well said...Janae! I think we all need to be better informed about the candidiates. I just made a post that you all might benefit from.Oh and I totally agree with you on the SPICE program, my kids have never been this happy in school. I love the fact that we can go in at anytime and help out in the classroom. It's a great program!

MIL....
I wish I had your MIL. Can we trade?
Even though your blog is about your actual life, I sometimes don't believe you and feel like it's all made up. Even when you're unloading all your stress, you CRACK ME UP!! Somehow reading about your life issues and daily stresses, they seem like a fun crazy story. Even a little bit when talking with you, but much more so in written word. Your life was meant to be written about. Write a biography. Oh wait, you are. The end. Amen. Hallelujah.
P.S. Feeling pooped and done by noon everyday?! That's not good and I believe you in that you must be having a hard time if that's truly how you're feeling. Even I (much more stress-magnet, so-not-on-top-of-it mama) only feel wiped out by noon every COUPLE days versus EVERY day. I wish I could help you on that one, and your overall health. Go fake-baking, get a boob job, and lypo and you'll feel much better in the morning...like a happy little magic pill.
P.P.S. I was laughing SO hard at the Christopher Walken photo. If that's what you're looking like lately, I want nothing to do with you!
P.P.P.S. You bring out the sarcasticness in me (or maybe that's because it's midnight and I'm baking Avery's 5-day-belated birthday cake!)
I love you! ~Nat
Also, just want to remind everyone that the law of consecration never was socialism. Socialism takes away people's ownership and gives it to the state, eventually communism at its highest level. The law of consecration always allowed private ownership, which is reiterated in Section 134 of the Doctrine and Covenants, verse 2: "We believe that no government can exist in peace, except such laws are framed and held inviolate as will secure to each individual the free exercise of conscience, the right and control of property, and the protection of life." We need to ask ourselves which candidate fights the most for these three things. Who is biggest on protecting our freedom of conscience (religion), our property rights (homes and right to own them), and protection of life (national defense, against abortion, right to bear arms, right to choose our own health care). We need to make sure we vote for the candidate who is most in line with protecting these basic foundations!!

Wow. Sitting here reading comments and thinking what an amazing thing the Plan of Salvation is! There are so many different perspectives. Yet when we get the eternal perspective up in heaven, we'll all be completely blown away. Down here on earth we are each so sure our perspectives are right.
Earth life is more than amazing. Allowing each of us to choose and decide for ourselves?!? If you're a parent, you KNOW how heart-wrenching is to let your little ones go out there and make their own decisions. They make their choice and their consequence is theirs. God giving His little ones that right to choose? What an incredible gift!
Keep up the great posts, Janet. Three cheers for the red, white, and blue! The politics rebuttal would be fun. . . perhaps another day.
I wasn't going to comment since I sent you an email about my feelings about the election. I've watched every debate and haven't changed my mind from the beginning of the campaign and earlier as I told you in the message. Read biographies and listened to their speaches. How can anyone believe Fox is fair and balanced with Bill O'Reilly and especially Shawn Hannity. I used to like it the best but no more. Can't stand to watch those two. I do like the other news anchors on Fox. As I said in your email--Palin is so qualified (she thinks) as she can see Russia from her house. I've followed Obama ever since his keynote address at the Democratic convention 4 years ago. As I said in my earlier message
From a former staunch Republican.
Wow. I didn't mean to start a political debate here. I was just having a little fun.. and BAM! Now that's it's already going, I will definitely join in the fight. In fact, I will post something later on in the week when I can really stand on my own soapbox. For now, I will say this:
1. I am still undecided. None of your comments helped me :)
2. I do not believe that YouTube video for a second. For all we know, some 16 year old made it in his basement. If the information IS true, then the McCain campaign is retarded for not bringing it up during the debates or through advertisements. (oh, wait, McCain decided to use money from the Republican party to campaign and doesn't have any left.)
3. When I said calling Obama a socialist is going too far, I was wrong. In definition he is, but when people use it as a bad word to be confused with Communist or Nazi, I do not agree. He wants to socialize healthcare, but he does NOT want to take away all our rights as citizens of a free country. People who say he's evil or is not patriotic lose my respect.
4. Joe, I will not trade MIL's with you, even though she's been converted by Fox news. I love her anyway.
5. Bev, your opinion is very much appreciated. I am SURPRISED by your choice for President. With a veteran husband, I thought you would be a big supporter of McCain. I like you more now :)
6. Also, sorry I described myself as a 60 year old when that is in fact young to some of my readers :) If I went any older, my husband would accuse me for exaggerating.
7. But I shouldn't have thought he would read this anyway (or testify to my ugly picture) so since he's not reading, I will now say I looked like I was 120.
8. How come everyone is more interested in politics than in MY STOLEN CAR? Didn't you read that my car got stolen? Doesn't anyone want to say something like, "That SUCKS!" Out of 35 comments, Emily B is the only one interested in my family crisis :) From now on, I will email her directly if I have a family affair and keep my blog completely impersonal.
9. If you haven't already, you should make your way over to Amelia's blog, a friend who is living in Scotland. She is linked under my "Hometown Homies" and has a very interesting view on this election. Of course, you John McCain fans won't like it, but just try to think outside the box for a bit :)
I just want to say a few things... I was really disturbed by reading the "First of all" section. That was pretty mean- not to be rude about it. I just don't understand why someone would point out things pertaining to looks and sound of someones voice when trying to decide on who to vote for... besides, veneers or crowns would be better than dentures... I personally look at the candidates stances and will vote by those and not by who looks and sounds better in a microphone.
The economy stresses me out too BUT I am not letting myself get all tied up in knots about it. I have headed the counsel of the Prophets and have gotten my food storage, extra money stashed away (small bills), money in savings and feel that I am prepared for the future. Anything above that, I am putting in the Lords hands.

Here is an account from Ezra Taft Benson when he was Secretary of Agriculture under Eisenhower, prior to being Prophet, of why Socialism has EVERYTHING to do with Communism!
Secretary Benson grew to have a hatred for communism. He spoke to audiences with his anti-communist speeches, warning repeatedly of what he believed was the threat of a "socialist-communist conspiracy." In the 1960s he stated to the BYU student body:
... Communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a classless, stateless social organization based on common ownership of the means of production. ... Anti-communism is opposition to communist ideology, organization, or government, on either a theoretical or practical level. ... ...
“I have talked face to face with the godless communist leaders. It may surprise you to learn that I was host to Mr. [Nikita] Khrushchev for a half day when he visited the United States, not that I’m proud of it. I opposed his coming then, and I still feel it was a mistake to welcome this atheistic murderer as a state visitor. But, according to President Eisenhower, Khrushchev had expressed a desire to learn something of American Agriculture — and after seeing Russian agriculture I can understand why. As we talked face to face, he indicated that my grandchildren would live under communism. After assuring him that I expected to do all in my power to assure that his and all other grandchildren will live under freedom, he arrogantly declaired in substance:
“‘You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.’
“And they’re ahead of schedule in their devilish scheme.” (Ezra Taft Benson “Our Immediate Responsibility.” Devotional Address at Brigham Young University. circa 1968.”)
How do we describe what is happening to our country today? Which candidate will help us move away from Socialism?
-Dave Adamson
That IS weird Janet! I, for one, would like to say "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! YOUR CAR WAS STOLEN? THIS IS HORRID!" I'm glad it wasn't your #1 mode of transportation. Mccainobamawho?
I have one thing to add since you said your mind was still not made up... plain and simple in supporting Obama you are supporting a candidate that supports abortion. For me that's easy. I will NEVER vote for Obama.
Since I, having dual citizenship, can vote in two countries and these two countries are both quite large... in area... I actually have a great impact on the world as a whole and I take my responsibility seriously... Of course I'm completely undecided and I've been reading almost anything FACTUAL that I can get my hands on. Since one of the countries already has socialized medicine, and it certainly has it's pros and cons, it has made some of my decision making that much more complicated for me. I was hoping that your post would enlighten me and set me straight so I could stop stressing over this but instead your post and the subsequent comments has just left my head hurting... and normally I leave your site feeling better! (I don't hold you responsible... you didn't pick the candidates that have created this mind boggling scenario)
I'm tempted to mail you some of the fabulous colourful, crunchy leaves from my yard so you can experience some autumn pleasures... but your hike in the mountains just made me jealous that you are still able to wear shorts while I don't even want to get out of bed because the floor will be cold! So.. no leaves for you!
crazy politics, family is what makes it real, sick, tired and a stolen car.... are you trying to write a country song??
I don't know if you are aware how appropriate it was that you included in your blog.. politics and Christopher Walken.... maybe you should check out www.walken2008.com Maybe you're on to something?!
yeah... that's all I have to say... you should never have encouraged me to comment!
Nova-- so glad you commented! It's my favorite so far. And that Christopher Walken page is not serious is it? "I believe in having a house, I believe in keeping things clean" Seriously?
I'm with Karlin. For me, the moral issues are the trump card. I've been surprised how politically active the church has been in CA over prop. 8. We're doing precinct walks, every Saturday, being asked to donate, time, money, talk to our friends and neighbors, make sure our family members are all registered to vote, etc... I had some struggles over this issue at first but have studied and prayed, and am finally realizing why this is so important. Especially after reading an article on NPR about all the individuals and churches that are being sued for not performing services that are against their beliefs. If CA loses this battle, it will spread like wildfire across the country, and I need a president who will appoint judges to uphold the constitution. I'm not crazy about either of the candidates, although I don't dislike either of them, and I'm really turned off by the schmear campaining going on. But my vote is with the one who claims to take the stance that will most protect the sanctity of the family. And as much as I like Obama, it's not him.
OH goll...now I'm too stressed out to comment! I don't even know what to say besides THAT SUCKS that your car got stolen!
*Sigh* Did anyone really hear anyone else in this comment fun, or was it simply an outlet for opinions? (that's just a rhetorical question)
How's the detox going now? How are you feeling? Better?
I meant to ask you if your insurance covered anything on your stolen car?
I'm not smart enought to understand anything you wrote here, except 'I'm tired' which I feel for you on, because I can't sleep anymore (yep, it's 4:15 am, and I've been up for 2 hours with pregnancy insomnia); and I really love your Christopher Walkin picture. He's one of my favorite's of all time, and I have learned all of my MOVES from him.
Hardy Har Hut.
I suggest Coca Cola.
