Time for an update... the last post under the "my four sons" label was over a year ago. Time flies when you're having fun!BENJAMIN-- 9 years going on 19.
I won the lottery with this kid. The fact that he came first was no mistake. He is organized, responsible, thorough (doesn't do a job unless it's done perfectly), happy, obedient, a natural leader, and such a great help to me. In church several weeks ago, he noticed I wasn't singing along with the congregation.. (I tend to focus on keeping the crazy-baby quiet.) Ben opened up to the right page in the hymn book and handed it to me while saying, "Mom, we're on verse two." This is the second time he's done this. Ben is everything I've ever wanted in a little boy! He is literally the only reason I can do all that I do. One of my favorite stories about Ben can be found HERE.

When I was pregnant with Ben, I wondered if I could love another child. Luke proved to me that when you add to your family, the love multiplies. He is quiet and speaks only when he has something good to say. He is thoughtful, caring, emotional, and a deep thinker. He is by far my smartest child, but you would never know it-- because he doesn't NEED to answer a question in order to prove anything. He was reading (and I mean reading anything and everything) before his third birthday. He is logical and sweet. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have a wild side. Luke can make the silliest noises in the family-- many are completely annoying. We are crazy about our only brown-eyed boy! One of my favorite stories about Luke can be found HERE.

Zack came into the world cracking jokes, making all of us double over from laughter. He is outrageously energetic. He doesn't walk, he skips. He is always talking and knows how to create a disaster in 3.2 seconds. Being around him is exhausting for me, but I have learned to embrace the energy he brings into the room and enjoy his spastic personality. He doesn't follow directions or listen to anything anyone says because he has a more creative way of doing things. He's always "sick" or "too busy" to clean or help around the house. His tummy always hurts when it's time to unload the dishwasher. He is not interested in school the way my older boys are, but he will do anything with an artistic spin. This kid can paint, draw, mold, splash, color, and build masterpieces. I can't wait to see where life takes our Zack-a-roni! Our family life would be so boring without him. There are so many favorite Zack stories... so many! But one of my favorite pictures of Zack's bum can be found HERE.SIMON-- 14 months.
Simon is the most gorgeous baby I've ever owned..or seen. He's beautifully handsome and my heart literally melts when flashes his dimples and fans those luscious lashes. He is a big boy-- much taller and heavier than my other children. He's also the most verbal! I cannot believe the list of words he can speak. He will repeat anything the boys say to him and people in public think he's much older than he is. He was born thinking he was "one of the gang" and insists on playing big boy games. He colors, throws rocks, builds legos and jumps on the trampoline with the best of them. As wonderful as it is to have a "baby" around, Simon is a handful. He screams and throws serious tantrums.... and because he's so cute, I usually give in. I am trying my best to be consistent with him, but he is giving me a run for my money. He affectionately goes by "Sy-Guy" & "the babymonster" & "the big fat baby" all of which fit his sassy personality. I thank God every day that Simon joined our family. I was so thrilled to get another little boy and think he's very luck to have the older brothers he does. They adore him. We all do. Every picture of Simon is delicious. I just can't pick a favorite, but his first birthday post can be found HERE.

Does my dog get an update on "my four sons" tab? Sure. Sunny is a female Golden Retriever, with papers to prove it! She has been the perfect addition to our family. I knew that getting a dog would be a good thing, but I am completely surprised by how much I love her. My heart has grown three sizes since Christmas. She is the sweetest, most loving, smart dog. Are all dogs this perfect? She plays with the kids all day and cuddles with me whenever I have a chance to sit down. She lays on my feet while I type on the computer. She is learning to potty outside and is so good at telling us when she needs to go. We've had two accidents in the house and one was RIGHT next to our back door which means she tried to warn us! I am so looking forward to watching her grow, helping her take care of her puppies and seeing how much she can teach all of us. For now, she is my only little girl and I love her! There's only one post about Sunny on the blog (such a shame~ more to come soon!!)

not this cute anymore!
