Zack received a nice sketchbook for his birthday from someone who knows him well! He went to town on it before bedtime last night. Aaron came to bed much later than I did and told me that I needed to check out his sketchbook in the morning. I was expecting a masterpiece when I opened the book. I was thrilled to see that he drew our whole family.. each person on their own page! I am in love and plan to frame them and hang them in a special place in our home. After I flipped through the pages, I came to his last drawing.... and realized why Aaron told me I needed to "check it out". I would tell you about the drawing, but I would rather show you. Let's start from the very beginning (a very good place to start).

I don't have much to say about this last picture. In fact, I am speechless. When we asked Zack what
possessed him to draw it, he said, "I drew walls squishing him and spikes on the floor, so he'll die!!" That explains everything, doesn't it?
What I DO know is that Zack is dope. He's artistic and spicy and oh so funny! He's been surprising us with his crazy personality for the last 5 years. And we're gonna keep him around for a while longer... satanic drawings and all.

Satan... ahahahahaaa! That's great. And just how I always pictured Satan too... Well... not really... but it's still awesome.
LOL! =D I love his 'explanation' for it, haha =) and...for some reason, I really like the backwards D on Dad and the belly button on Simon (and the facial expressions on each member of the family...man, he's got talent!). =)

Yes, I love the backwards D, my eyelashes, Luke's mohawk and Zack's crazy hair and face. But my fave is Simon's fat tummy. That's exactly what it looks like in real life. Simon can't be a stick figure... he's too chubby. Zack's got talent.
And yes, the lopsided boob drawer would be Ben.
My favorite (besides Satan) is Simons fat belly too. Hilarious. And at first I thought it said Santa-- it sort of looks like Santa coming down the chimney. I just love your crazy Zack. :-)

You took my words...The little details of each picture is so telling. He expressed your girliness with eye lashes, Ben's missionary hair cut -of course-, Lukes mohalk -a little non comformist-?, Zacks crazy face and hair, baby Simon, and the desire for a dead Satan. The things that are going on in that little head.
Seriously...COOLEST kids EVER!
My kids drawings are killing me lately. I still can't get over Ben's Thank You note to the soldiers in Afghanistan. That picture is taped on our fridge and I still laugh every time I see it. I don't make this stuff up!
