feeling faint

This is my family in 2000. I was 8 months pregnant with Ben. What photographer decides to make a very pregnant woman stand in the back and wait for 100 other people to be placed? I know Aaron and I are tall, good looking, and like to be in the center of things, but it was a bad decision. By the time the little ones were placed in front, I was DYING! We had been standing under the hot lights (which seemed like forever) and I knew I was in trouble. Before the first shot was taken, I told the entire group, "I am going to faint, YO!" The photographer told me to hang on and quickly snapped one shot. Then I said again, "I am not kidding here! I am really going to pass out!" Everyone was still smiling for the camera when Aaron said, "I will catch you if you go." And the rest is history.

There are a several things that are completely hilarious about this picture... First: it was snapped at the exact moment that I passed out... I was still standing, but you can see my eyes rolling in the back of my head. Second: my punk brother-in-law didn't want to wear his tie and we thought THAT was drama until I fainted. Third: the ONE shot that was taken before I passed out turned out pretty good! Fourth: (and most important) Everyone is smiling.. except for Aaron because he knew I was a gonner! I totally love his face because he's like "HOLY *@i#" (even though he's never sworn in his life... I know he was thinking it!) I obviously don't remember anything (except for a crazy, wild dream.. Francine and I were driving around a race track in a red sports convertible and we were cruising fast and laughing hard! ) I finally woke up to my family surrounding me. Aaron had left to get some water because I was OUT and they couldn't wake me. One of my sisters was crying.. When I finally came to, I could not stop laughing. The whole situation was hilarious (I don't think Aaron or my mom thought it was funny for a while.) But an hour later, we were able to see the film and just cracked up!! My mom did not want my dad to buy the picture-- but I insisted! Too bad it was before the digital stage-- the picture quality isn't great, but it's classic.

That is HILARIOUS! Aaron's face is great. I've fainted before but don't have photographic proof - you are one lucky lady. :)

Well, it's 10:30 at night, the kids and the husband are sleeping and I'm DYING laughing at this picture. The story was funny last night at dinner, but this just made it even better. First off, I LOVE the big HAIR that you're sporting, second, I love that the camera caught the EXACT moment, and third, there are NO words for Aaron's face. PERIOD. Loved it!

That picture is hilarious! I too loved Aaron's face, even before you even mentioned it in your blog. haha, I'm still laughing. I too (almost) fainted doing sealing right after I found out I was pregnant. I just stood up and layed down on the floor. The sealers and Clay were wondering what I was doing...fun times! I'm happy your dad bought that picture, it is worth a million words!

I left a comment earlier, but it didn't show up. This is so funny, and the fact that you have a picture of the whole experience makes it so much funnier.

I remember this story- hilarious, but didn't remember about your dream. I love that I could be with you while you were passed out. We need to make that dream a reality some day. Thanks for the laughs!

You are so funny! Are you ever going to move to Utah so we can live by each other again? I didn't fully appreciate your coolness when we were in the same ward!

OH MAN!! That is going to be SO HARD to top. Honestly, I think that needs to be sent in to Ellen. You could totally get some sort of prize for that. I am laughing hysterically right now.

That photographer either SO did NOT earn their $6.50/hr (for putting you through that) or needs an award for best family picture ever taken! you poor girl! so glad you have that priceless portrait!

This totally cracked me up. I had to show Rick it was so funny, and he laughed too. That's so awesome that you convinced your parents to purchase it. Can you imagine the regrets if you didn't? Totally priceless!

oh man, I can't handle this! Sleeping family, one of which is in my lap. Picture me doing the silent hysterical laugh, bouncing shoulders and all trying not to disturb baby Avery. You're too much!!

This is Jesus, totally commenting. This is the most BIZARRO thing ever, and almost seems fake. How can you faint at precisely the moment the photographer snaps the shot? That's some hysterical Hollywood comedy action. So, uh... thanks for the entertainment. Don't expect me to comment every time, though, I do have a life.

I literally have tears running down my face- and when I get in control of my hysterics, my Karlie says to her sister Natalie: "Natalie, lets pretend you just fainted..." No- they didn't see the picture- I am trying to quit laughing again! lol
