the plague

What is going on with the WORLD being so sick? I am so sick of being sick! Luckily, I do not have it as bad as the rest of my family, but enough already!!!! I don't think I have EVER seen Aaron this out of it. He seriously hasn't moved in two days. Hope his firm doesn't mind. And all three of my boys are sick as dogs. Their temperatures are sky rocketing and they are completely motionless.. I feel so bad because today we had two different Easter parties to go to. The boys have been counting down the days and now they are sleeping through it. Oh well... hopefully they will feel better soon--

A few things I have learned the past couple of days:

1) You can NEVER have too much cold medicine on hand.. our family has downed several bottles of Nyquil, Robitussin, Tylenol cold... you name it. I am stalking up next time it goes on sale because without it, we would be REALLY miserable.

2) Owning the movie Enchanted is the best thing that has happened to us.... I cannot count how many times we've watched it the past two days and even though we're sick, we are belting out the happy tunes. It's the only princess show my boys will sit and watch and it's absolutely fabulous. Every time McDreamy goes in for the true love's kiss, both Ben and Luke cover their eyes and say, "Tell us when the GROSS part is over!!" and I always tell them it's over before it really is. Why didn't I see this when it was in the theatre? Probably because I am outnumbered by testosterone and never get to vote! Oh-- and you tell me. Is it bad that my family thinks I talk like Giselle? I don't think I live in a fairytale land... but maybe I need to be a little less animated. Gotta lover her, though.

3) I am the QUEEN of smoothie making. My kids don't want ANYTHING to eat except for smoothies. And I have been experimenting like crazy. Right now we are drinking a delicious mix of Dole Orange/Mango juice with blueberries, peaches, banana, KALE (like spinach.. can be found in the produce isle), a bottle of baby food butternut squash, ice and a scoop of triple green powder. It's delicious AND healthy--and my kids are begging for more. I feel like yelling "GOTCHA!" after they drink it... but I don't. I just smile inside.

Janet-
That is so funny that your kids love smoothies too! I started making them a while back after I would exercise and gave the kids some. Now that is all they want to eat for breakfast! I put whey protein powder, flax seed, and whatever else I can find in them. Can't say they aren't healthy! :)

i'm sorry your family is sick! Good thing they have you to take care of them.
I can't believe you hadn't seen Enchanted. I figured that maybe you had gone with some girl friends. I laughed so hard through the whole thing.
Where do you find triple greens?

I love Enchanted also. Such a cute movie. It is funny for kids and adults. I hope everyone gets feeling better soon. Make them take really good care of you next time you are sick.

Hope your family gets to feeling better. When Enchanted came out it was around my birthday - and in our household, the birthday person gets to pick a movie and a place to eat and the other 2 have to go along. I chose Enchanted and my husband reluctantly went. After it ended (and weeks after) he could not stop talking about how good it was. Yup, it was a "buyer" for our household this week. So.. I saw that Triple Greens makes other stuff like Super Red or Great Purple (sorry, cannot remember) and wondered if you had tried the other flavors? Sam

Sorry, you guys are sick. We are nearing the end of our sickness. We've practically missed a whole month. I know what you mean by the cold medicine. I love Nyquil when I am sick...it sends me right off to sleepyland.
Oh. I just love Enchanted, too. I saw it in the theater with my mom and sisters and then dragged Dave to it and he loved it. My favorite is when she calls all of the animals and bugs into clean the apartment. LOL!!!
Aren't smoothies the best. My favorite one is fresh Mango with skim milk, protein powder, and a little vanilla yogurt...hmm!!

Butternut squash and Kale...you are daring girl!! Maybe I will have to trey it before I make an assumption.

Ugh! That is the worst! We have somehow escaped most of it this year. (knock on wood) But that just means it will be our turn next year. As for Enchanted, we saw it in the theaters and the kids have been asking when we can buy it since, such a great show!

So sorry that everyone is sick. That is so hard! We have had more colds and everything this year then usual as well. I just read your post about you RA. I am so sorry. I am glad you were able to figure out a diagnosis but that doesn't make it any better. Please let me know if we can do anything to help. I think you are a rock too.

We saw Enchanted like 3 times in the Theater (twice somebody else paid for it). Yeah--LOVED IT. It is definitely one to own. *Getting in the car to head to Costco*

I hope you all get better soon. I can sympathize for sure since we've been sick here too. BTW that is such a cute picture of Zach! I think you need to post the smoothie recipe. That sounds good!

Bummer! Sorry everyone is sick. That is the worst. I still need to see Enchanted and I want to try one of your smoothies... baby food squash, really?

Either you shared it with us or we shared it with you! BUMMER DEAL either way, because I haven't left the house this week...oh, except to the eye doctor, which led me to Burlington for Easter outfits, which led to Jackson PUKING in a shoe box there! (needless to say, that's the last time we've seen anything besides our house...) Max has got the high fever and the cough going. LOVELY! Wish we could all be sickies together in one miserable house - so at least you and I could do something more fun! :)
