I know that I have Easter weekend news to report, but it's rather depressing.
but before I get to that, I have a couple of important questions that need answered first.
# 1 Why is YO GABBA GABBA even airing on TV... and WHY do kids like it? Is this another TeleTubbies craze or what? Seriously, I HATE this show and cringe every time it's on, but for some odd reason, my kids love it.. even Ben and Luke who are too old for Dora or Sesame Street. I mean, I can only imagine a group of people sitting around in a conference room discussing this show:
"The name of the show has GOT to be Yo Gabba Gabba.. if it's anything else, it will just seem so--- sophisticated."
"And a skinny black gay man in a bright [skin tight!] orange outfit should be the host.. and he will be more appealing if wearing a fuzzy florescent hat... "
"Yes.. I totally agree and he also should look like he's needs a training bra."
"And the songs should be SO annoying that not only the kids will be singing them, but the parents will have them stuck in their heads all day."
"It's unanimous.. this show is going to be a total hit!"
AND SOMEHOW IT IS! I swear, I have been singing, "DON'T, Don't, don't bite your friends!!" for three days straight. and my kids have never had issues with biting!
If you don't know what I am talking about... then don't get Nickelodeon because somehow it magically sucks in your kids and has them hypnotized. But if you need to see a bit of DJ Lance, there here is a few annoying seconds for your pleasure... but don't let your kids see because they will be begging for more! HUGS!
I am SHOCKED because even after ALL the chocolate we ate this weekend,
we are STILL sick! I just don't get it! ?
we are STILL sick! I just don't get it! ?

And #2--
For the past week, I have been dreaming about Kelly Rippa. We are usually at the pool or hanging out at the park with our kids. Towards the end of every dream, I get annoyed that she is trying too hard to be my friend.. and I usually end up saying to her, "Back off, Kelly! I am just a person!!!" I wake up feeling frustrated because Geez! she should get a life of her own! ya know? For all you dream interpreters out there, what does this mean? I watch Regis and Kelly like once a month and that's usually because they bring back the Bachelor to talk about why he didn't chose the right girl. So why would I feel like Kelly is obsessed with me? I am really looking forward to your input.
P.S. I am so glad I have you to discuss these topics with because my husband doesn't feel like talking about anything in the morning.. especially my dreams. I am sure he is thanking you from the bottom of his heart...

not this cute anymore!

I always think it is so funny that most moms hate this show! I actually find it pretty entertaining. The best part is that it is a bunch of mormom guys sitting around in a room coming up with it. Seriously. Doug helped shoot the first couple of episodes and no lie, they are most, if not all Mormons. Makes ya proud doesn't it.
You're right! Madisen was sitting on my lap & she's asking for it again and again. YIKES! That's the MOST AWFUL thing I've ever seen. Luckily we don't have Nickelodeon so we won't be watching it anytime soon. Sounds to me like you need to call on Joseph of Egypt to interpret that dream!
I totally disagree on this one Janet. I LOVE YO GABBA GABBA!! I dont' know why, but I just get a kick out of it. The songs are cute and simple, the gay guy makes me laugh so hard, and I love to dance around like the little characters with my kids. It's a blast and I'm totally a fan!
P.S.
Rachel told me that you could do something to your blog so that you could see exactly who was on your blog. Could you teach me how to do that? Thanks.
I think that if for some reason, if I ended up in outer darkness, I would be forced to watch Yo Gabba Gabba and the Doodlebops on repeat. There would be nothing worse. I hope you all get well soon.
i've never seen it. i guess it hasn't hit the canadian airwaves. it looks pretty crazy, so i'm sure my kids will love it.
ok... i take that back. i'm totally laughing. i went through the children's shows menu on our tv a few nights ago and recorded any shows that i thought would be of interest to my kids. i guess yo gabba gabba sounded appealing, because i just came across it in my recordings. my one year old has been dancing to the music and my 3 year old is entranced. so funny. and yes the gay guy definitely needs some support, he has bigger boobs than i do... ok and another funny thing. after reading your dream entry, i remembered that i had a dream about you and aaron last night. so random. we were at a university in utah. i took a couple pictures of my husband and your husband together, with a really cheap walmart disposable camera. then i met you in a cafeteria. you were super tall, i mean 6'5 or more and had really red curly hair. are you super tall? i think we ate together and then i went running. so wierd i know. funny how little daily things get caught up in our dreams... ok so my only guess about the rippa dream is that you're such a well liked person, that perhaps you're feeling pressure to be everyone's friend. just a guess. i mean, we've never even met, so i can't really analyze your life, just guess from what i've read on your blog. and janet, you are a very well liked person! which is a good thing of course! i could've met you one time... and should have! i was at my good friend mandy mclea's house in provo at byu housing, like 5 or 6 years ago, when she got a phone call from aaron... i think he was her home teacher. i thought it would be a little inappropriate or wierd to go and visit him, considering he was now married, but now i wish i had come to meet you! oh well, maybe someday. the mormom world is a small one.
My sister in law's cousin is one of the writers for Yo Gabba Gabba and we saw the pilot for it a couple of years ago. When we first watched it I thought it was the STRANGEST show I had ever seen. My boys LOVED it instantly though and were ECSTATIC when it showed up on Nick. I honestly couldn't believe it was picked up but...it appeals to kids....thats all that matters I guess!
I am SO embarrassed to hear that Mormons created this show! I guess it's kinda good because now they are rich, and they are paying tithing that goes towards building temples.. but seriously?! Of course kids (and obviously some coo-coo moms!) are liking this stuff because how often do you see crazy gay people dancing around telling you not to bite others? It's insane..
and Brandy... I will just have to email you separately-- but just for the record.. I am NOT 6'5"-- should I take that as a compliment or be insulted? I am 5'11" and my red hair is fake :)
what about BooBah? Just as stupid! And Janet, everyone wants to be your friend.
BooBah is almost just as bad..... almost.
This show I don't get either,I can't turn it off quick enough. Your dream is great, I dream often and my husband is not really interested either. I would say that you are kind of a star yourself and that Kelly Ripa has nothing on you. She just wants to know what your secret is. Stay at home mom and homeschooler, you rock.
Janet, I always know I will be thoroughly entertained by your posts. You crack me up every time! I couldn't agree with you more on the Yo Gabba Gabba! I was surprised to hear that your boys like it. IT gave me hope though because they are so smart and sophisticated and they even like it. I guess maybe there is something to it?!
I had to laugh at your dream as well. My husband too really would rather I discuss my dreams with someone else. Maybe we should start a support group for those of us with Bizarre dreams that just want to talk about it and get some input as to why!
janet... it's a compliment... i remember in my dream that i was in awe of how stunning you were... sorry guess i should have included that in the original email..
Love your hilarious dream. I recently dreamt I was auditioning to be a bounty hunter with Dog the Bounty Hunter. I hope that makes at least Janet laugh! Also, American Mommies beware, not sure if it is over there yet, but the teletubbies people have created a show surely on its way to you, In the Night Garden... addictive in a strange way. Babies and toddlers love it.
janet you are so funny, i miss seeing you, i didn't know you were struggling with your health, that is super frustrating, i'm sorry, i have to say that your blog is the most interesting to read, it makes my day.
They are Mormon! My neighbor's cousin is one of the voices! He was in the band Aquabats but I watched it for a second this morning and had to laugh after your comments. It is a little too wierd for me! What is up with you and Kelly Ripa?
Sorry, Janet. I will stop trying so hard to be your friend. Then your weird dreams should stop.
Also, I find Yo Gabba Gabba freakishly entertaining once you get past the creepiness. And I appreciate that it encourages my daughter to GET OFF HER BUTT whilst watching TV. But that's just me.
Hmm... I just read the other comments, and I guess I am coo-coo. Ah well, I guess I couldn't hide it that long. Maybe it's because I went to theatre school, so gay guys dancing around in tights and singing doesn't seem even a little weird to me.
seriously. kelly rippa needs to get a life of her own and stop bothering you while you sleep!!!
and I am with you on the yo gabba craze. it is so annoying.
maybe aaron secretly reminds you of regis, so it would make sense that kelly would want to be your friend.
that video is disgusting. i never watch that show. now I know why.
and like i said before, everyone wants to be your friend. you are like a person magnet!!
