My boys eat, sleep and breathe Transformers. If you didn't know that already, you know it now. I am hoping it's just a phase. That's what I have to keep telling myself EVERY day. Anyway, this was their art project this week... a poster for each of their favorite Transformers to hang in their bedroom. I do realize that you can actually buy Transformer posters at Target, but then you don't get to have quality, poster-making family time... you know, the kind that makes you all want to scream and pull your hair out. They started fighting over who should write the names on top (because Ben is annoyed that Luke doesn't do it perfect.) I came up with a solution: I would write the names and they could cut them out and glue them on. That solution lasted all of ten seconds... as soon as they started cutting, Ben was getting mad at Luke for cutting the letters the wrong way (for example-- on the Bumble Bee poster.. Luke cut out the B-L-E and it wasn't in accordance with Ben's plan.) I told them to leave me out of the discussion and work out a solution they could both be happy with. They talked it over and finally found some middle ground. This was their deal:If Luke would let Ben cut out ALL the letters,
then Ben would be Luke's servant for a whole week.
then Ben would be Luke's servant for a whole week.
Sounds like a fair plan to me.
We'll call Luke the deal maker of the century and leave it at that.

not this cute anymore!

lol, too funny! I'm not sure I really ever want to make a deal with Luke though. I might end up doing your laundry for a week AND paying you for it!
I love these posters and so does warner. I think I will be busy making transformers posters this weekend.. thanks for giving him the great idea.
i love this. i have 13 pictures on my camera of strawberry shortcake coloring book pages, 5 of disney princesses. good job for making them figure out a solution on their own. We've been trying to do this with our kids with not much success, yet. Anyway, the stages are so crazy. I can only imagine my mom rolling her eyes when I would go on and on about New Kids on the Block.
That is hilarious! What a screamin deal!!
Hey Janet! It is good to hear from you and be able to see what your family is up to.
What an fun mom you are! Your boys are very lucky to have such awesome parents. Hope you stay in touch!
I think Luke took negotiating lessons from my husband.
Somehow we were sucked into Transformers as well. That is all Ethan talks about. He is obsessed with the army guys on the movie, and quotes them all the time. Personally I think this is a little bit weird, and I am slightly worried about this type of behavior! Everywhere we go he has a 'gun' hooked to his arm and he shoots at random people. In the car, the grocery store, church, the library, school...you name it! I'm not sure which tranformer he is supposed to be, because he likes them all.
I hope for both our sakes this phase does pass, or we'll have some really weird teenagers in a few years! ( At least we won't have to worry about too many girls hanging around, though. I guess it could be worse!)
Lindsay... true dat. and i can totally picture Ethan whipping out his hand-gun and shooting people. so funny!
