It's sad. I have yet to unpack my car-- and somehow I am blogging... [about American Idol at that!] I will eventually get to the laundry, but I just had to give a shout out to the other David. That's right folks, this is my pick for season seven. I've had my eye on him since he auditioned with Bon Jovi. When he sang So Happy Together with the top 24, I loved him for holding the mike stand like an umbrella. And how could you NOT fall in love with Lionel Richie's Hello? Seriously-- he brings it every week, Dawg-- he's all the colors of the rainbow, and even though Simon didn't like his crossword puzzle clip, I personally loved it... it was entirely prodigious.Now, I understand that most of you think I should be excommunicated for liking a rocker over David Archuleta.. but I have not totally forsaken the Mormon. I would love a DAVID-Finale. And now that Michael Johns is out, I don't even have another pick for the top three.... maybe Jason Castro? Seriously, all the girls could go home for all I care.
And that is my humble American Idol opinion.
David Cook seriously rocks.

david cook rocks. he's just more ready and experienced than the other david, although i'm sure archuleta will be rich and famouse one day... a newer and purer version of michael buble. i would love to go to a cook concert! i like the hippy too, but i think i would only listen to his music as soothing background music. anyways... janet, how did you make such a long blog entry for your hawaii trip? my template will only let me add 5-6 pics at a time?! glad you had a fun trip to see your family! utah is always a fun place to visit... and oh, how i miss Target!!!
Janet- I also like the Cook, David. Totally glad that the Cook, Kristi Lee is gone. It took too long for her to go.
And, although I agree in every sense of the positive with David Cook, I can't help but feel a little like he has REALLY long feet, and acts a little bit SMUG- I mean a lot.
I even like that.

I've always known he could sing but it wasn't until the tears that I actually felt like I really likes him. I am a total David fan. It's great to have the mix, the innocent, inspiring David and the let's freak out and be wild David. The perfect mix.

Ah man! David Cook is very talented but he just doesn't do it for me. I'm forever a David Archuleta fan. He sings so clear and is always right on. He's so unassuming, like he still can't believe he's made it on American Idol, especially when the judges compliment him and he acts relieved and embarrassed at the same time. He's so cute, I just love him!
I also like David Cook- but I like him better when I can just close my eyes and not look at his weird receeding hair-line "comb over." I do hate that he takes credit for arrangements that have been done before (ie Time after Time- have any of you listened to the "John Tucker Must Die" soundtrack. Totally a copy!)
My fav is David Archuleta and I really like Brooke (and not just because she has a really great name!).
Now that there is no Michael Johns to drool over, there is no point in watching the show. That guy was HOT. (Don't worry, my husband knows I feel this way. I had to hear it all season long about Carrie Underwood and Katherine McPhee, so he had it coming to him.)
Gee, after all of these comments I am almost afraid to say I am a Brooke fan...I don't think she will make it all the way, but it's nice to see someone on idol that can actually BE a good idol for girls these days...
I love that you love those three boys! We are fans of David Cook also. I do hope it's the two David's at the finale. Get rid of the girls!
After this weeks performance how can you not like David Cook? He rocks. But I am more of a David Archuleta fan and I LOVE Brooke. She is so dang cute and sweet and talented. I love that she'll play the piano and sing. She may not be as good as the boys but you've got to root for the married Mormon girl! I am a sucker for the Mormons.
Amen. I love David Cook. He really does rock. But I don't think I can decide who I like more (him or Archuleta), I just can't compare the two b/c they are so different, but I will buy both of their albums, DANG. Do you like how he made every woman/girl in America fall in love with him last week by singing "Music of the Night" and staring straight into the camera the entire time?
