Zack's assignment was to draw a picture of his wife. He decided to draw himself AND his wife, but got a bit carried away and drew a massive monster next to himself. His expression was priceless when he showed us the final product. He lifted it up, smiled big and said:
"She's HUGE and she's wearing a Santa hat!"

That one sentence had me laughing all day yesterday. When I finally laid my sleepy head on my pillow, I thought about Zack's expression when he said, "She's HUGE!" and I giggled out loud. As I told Aaron about our day, I realized that Zack's good moments definitely outweigh the bad.

not this cute anymore!

Love it, love it, love it!! I wish my mother-in-law had made my husband write me a letter when he was a kid. Priceless!
Such a good idea, I'm going to steal it and have my kids do that assignment. Let me just say that there is nothing more romantic than a "later alligator" from your future husband. Ben! You can marry Isabel and Zack can marry her little sister!!! (she can wear a Santa hat if that's what you like.)
These are so precious! I am so going to make my kids do that someday...
Don't you love when your head hits the pillow at night and something your kids have said/done that day make you laugh at loud? I LOVE those times. And Zack often makes me laugh out loud even hundreds of miles away. :)
Does Zack think that if she's wearing a Santa hat that means she brings toys? He might be on to something there.
Tim and I died when we read Zack's comments. That kid is hilarious. Will our kids ever get to hang out :(
We are also looking forward to your visit this summer. The worst part about buying this house is not getting to share it with family. Come stay in our spare room.
I LOVE these! I don't homeschool, but I think we may do this for FHE one night anyway. I love that Ben's sounds very eager and upbeat, and Luke's 'mom is making me' is classic. And of course Zack - I hope he finds his huge, santa wife someday!
I can't handle him! He's so funny! These little letters are just so sweet.
I can't imagine what Clay's might say if he'd written one when he was little with a plastic sword stuck through his underwear holster. Probably something about He-Man. Maybe he wanted Wonder Woman...looks like dreams do come true!
Linsday #1-- Ben's letter might sounded upbeat, but he was groaning while he was writing it. I told him his wife will kiss him for it later and that made matters worse.
Linsday #2-- I can't handle Zack either. no really, I can't handle him.
This was the cutest idea! I can't wait till my little guys are old enough to write something like this! By the way, little Simon is getting so big! He is such a cutie.
