A few days ago, I requested a CD from the library that used to be our favorite kids' CD in Spokane. Ben and Luke were toddlers at the time so I figured this would be more for Zack and Simon than anyone else. But I am pleasantly surprised by Ben and Luke's immaturity :) They laugh every bit as much at these songs as they did three years ago. What I think is CraZy about the whole situation is when I put the CD in the car, the first thing Luke said was: "Can you put it on song #11? That's my favorite one." I thought for sure he was mistaken... because he was probably 3 the last time he heard it. But sure enough, track #11= The Ants Go Marching, which is definitely their favorite. They also love the first song Ten in the Bed because when the babies fall off the bed, they let out a loud cry. You can listen to some of the songs HERE or HERE. If you live close by, I would be happy to make a copy for you. Is that illegal? Oh well. I've committed worse crimes.
Don't you think good kids CD's are hard to come by? Do you have a favorite?

not this cute anymore!

There are definitely some kids CD's that are better than others. I found one on iTunes that I really like. It's Elementary Hip Hop for Kids. I've been using it at school (since I teach English to Italian kids) Our favorite is Head Should Knees & Toes.
I grew up on Joe Scruggs. I like "Traffic Jams" and "Late Last Night." Once we had a road show with David Judd, my dad, Dick Moore, and some others. They did a lip sync to one of the songs on there. I also like Janeen Brady.
Nixon needs to hang out with your boys so their smartness can rub off onto him! And, ahem, I'd love a copy:)
My kids love songs by Sandra Boynton.. She wrote kids books first and then turned some into CD's... very funny ones... One CD is called 'Rhinoceros Tap', and 'Philadelphia Chickens'. She has another one out called 'Blue Moo', but we haven't checked that one out yet...
As for copying library CD's illegal?? I'll try to look into that for you after I've burned this last one here.... oh.. wait isn't your husband a lawyer... couldn't he look into legal matters for you...
I don't ask my husband any legal questions because I know what he'll say. I like how Robin McGraw says to her husband "Don't Dr. Phil me." They can leave their work at work...
We listen to Laurie Berkner a lot. My kids love her "We are the Dinosaurs" and "I'm Gonna Catch You, You Better Run" songs the best.
We also listen old school style to songs I listened to as a kid. They're by Anne Murray. I believe the album is call "Teddy Bears' Picnic". They think the "Why, Why,Why" song is so funny & the "Hey Daddy, There's a Hippo in the Bathtub." That last one might actually be the album title.
I love Elizabeth Mitchell, as does my daughter, but I don't know how little boys would feel about it- it's more soothing and folksy. Does that make it girly? also, Lisa Loeb has a children's CD called Camp Lisa with lots of classics on it like "Peanut Butter & Jelly", "Father Abraham" and "Home on the Range". I'm a fan. (But again, I'm a Lisa Loeb fan, so...)
I didn't know Sandra Boynton had CDs. I'll have to check them out.
