The quality that I most admire in Janet is her ability to go with the flow and keep calm in any situation, especially with her children. Every time I feel my stress level rising when I am interacting with my children, I kid you not, I say to myself WWJD (what would Janet do.)
My favorite memory of Janet was when we were neighbors at Wyview and she and her family came to the ward Halloween party as the Blue Man Group. Hilarious!
Janet, you have soooo many amazing qualities... your ability to befriend anyone. I love that you are so real. You are inspirational and amazing in everything you do. I have too many memories so I will list just a few of my favorites...
Fishing off your deck at your kindergarten birthday party
You telling my bluntly that I was terrible at jumproping.
Catching bugs under the street light and hiding behind garbage cans.
Drawing pictures in our letters back and forth after I moved.
Somersby!!! My personal fav.
Helping me with my crazy baby who would not SLEEP!
Love you Janet! I hope you have an amazing birthday, you deserve it!
I love Janet's ability to just be herself. I think it's amazing that she is able to reach out and become besties with a total stranger within minutes. And I truly admire her mad blogging skills!
I admire the attention that she is able to give to her family. She's committed one million percent. I also admire how blunt she is with you and she'll just say it like it is without beating around the bush-even if it's not a politically correct way of saying it. It's honest and I admire it.
Happy Birthday Beautiful. You certainly deserve the best.
I agree that her ability to be honest is one of her best qualities! She is honest with you but it doesn't mean she loves you any less! You are an amazing person Janet I hope you have a wonderful birthday, full of love and partying!
this is a hard question. i could write all morning...but i've got a couple of kids to take care of...(annie is trying to get my attetion at this moment and i keep ignoring her) one of the first things that comes to mind is janet's easy going-ness. i will always remember her telling me in college that i am "out going" but not "easy going." that really is true...but this isn't about me...janet is both. she is laid back and chill and i LOVE that. she is also extremely outgoing and not afraid to meet new people, her new neighbors, new roomies, try something new and i especially loved that while being her room roomie. i don't really know where to begin about my favorite memory. i'm afraid there are too many to pick just one. of course emailing one another back and forth in the ricks computer lab is a great one. we were practically right next to each other but we were having such a great time trying to make each other laugh outloud at our emails. janet was such a fun roommate. i was heart broken when she was talking about rooming with someone else the next year, you know, to change things up. i didn't want another roommate. you couldn't get better than janet. of course i have memories of "shumway" and all that came with him ;) i remember visiting your byu apt while i was doing efy the summer you got married. we laid on your bed (like we did in the olden days at ricks) and we talked about your newlyweded life and how happy you were. i will always remember calling you in a bucket of tears right after lucy was born...all emotional and out of whack. you knew i just needed to talk and that's just what we did. i could write a book about all our memories...the great thing is the memories just keep going and i'm looking forward to a million more. happy birthday beauty! hope your day is fabulous.
I love Janet's honesty, enthusiasm, desire to help others, creativity, silliness, joyful countenance, commitment to her family, courage to be who she is no matter what or where, and love for the Savior. Happy Birthday, Janet! You are beautiful inside out.
My favorite memory of Janet is of the two of us at a counter somewhere in Vegas, and her looking at the worker's name tag, and calling him, "Enis," only to have him give her a look and say it was not pronounced the way she pronounced it (which was the way just about anyone in that situation would have pronounced it)! We walked away, and I said something like, "Yeah, and I'm sure his girlfriend's name is actually Regina rather than Rah-jyne-uh." Man, we had a good laugh!
Her best quality by far is her ability to make friends ANYTIME, ANYWHERE! And even though she has GOBS if friends, she makes them each feel loved and special. Everyone in High School thought that they were Janet's "best friend," and I think that is probably the same today. When you are around her you feel happy and great. I have lots of fun memories with Janet from our teenage years. Just a few: seeing how "cool" we could be by passing notes EVERY class period, crazy fun girl's choice dances, driving to Pocatello for a reception and spending hours in the hotel room dressing up with towels on our heads and taking TONS of pictures, staying up late curling doll's hair (I think you had a family member who owned a doll shop at the mall??), meeting her late at Sconecutter, her hilarious SBO skits, etc, etc! The most important memory I have of Janet was her incredible testimony of Christ! I remember her sharing experiences and bearing her testimony in seminary and being So touched! Your strong testimony definately helped to shape mine. Thank you! Happy Birthday!!!
One of your best qualities, Janet, is also tied up with one of my best memories of you. And it is SO hard to choose just one, by the way. We've showered in our swimsuits together, spent hours talking, laughing, and crying together, been RSP's together, gone on trips, group dates, dances. Some of my greatest memories have YOU in them.
But one of your greatest qualities is making everyone around you feel IMPORTANT. The fact that you came to my wedding - three days after Christmas, on a Tuesday, ON Aaron's birthday - meant so much to me. I know I was in Lala Land, and so I'm not sure it really hit me then. But I've thought back on that and there was no way that you weren't going to be there even though it was a sacrifice. I loved the little gift you gave me for our wedding night, too! :) Thank you for being at my wedding; it still means so much to me. Thank you for always making time for me when I visit Vegas - I love and hate that you live there. I love it because it means I get to see you much more often than I would normally, but I hate it because I wish I didn't feel like my time was divided when I do get to hang with you. Ya know? But the love part of it definitely outweighs the hate part!
Anyway, I LOVE YOU. You know that. I am eternally grateful for a Father in Heaven who KNEW that I would need you in my life. Not just for the college years, but forever. I know our friendship wasn't by chance. I hope your birthday is amazing. You are a rock star!
So many wonderful qualities. A few that come to mind are: spontaneous yet organized, creative, fun, easy-going, friendly and super fun/easy to talk with.
I will always remember the Valentines Date you set up for all those couples and us. We were so late but I remember just loving getting out and doing something fun. I remember you had our husbands write us a poem and it just meant a lot to me to have that date with Chris. It something I will never forget. Oh, those poor college student days. So glad we had you guys as our friends then. You are an amazing person and really admire you as a sister in the church and friend.
I can remember the great times we had at young women's camp. Laughing and getting your mom in to ask her awkward questions about the facts of life. (I am laughing even just thinking of it.) I love her energy for life, what an amazing gift!
Janet has always had the ability to know the needs of others and to seek them out and help…it’s like she has this sixth sense for it. She is one of the kindest persons I know. She is extremely fun to be around (totally hilarious). And just by being around her, you’ll want to be the best person you possible can. I’m so glad I know Janet!
Bev says: I’ve been reading in my journal today about our little Janet & there’s nothing in the world I’d rather do right now than tell about what life was like having Janet in our home!! She talks about Zack making messes and creating havoc, but I think Janet & Zack have so much in common. I want to start by saying that I can’t help just LOVING both of them. When Janet was turning 2, she would ask for another treat by holding up a one little finger saying, “Pease, one mo . It was hard to resist giving her one. One time when I said “No more,” she said “One-half mo, pease.” Once I was getting in the bathtub, she said, ”Me get bathtub-you?” I said, “Not now.” She said, “1 bathtub?” I let her get in with me. Janet could make a big mess really fast ! Several times she got in a Vaseline jar & rubbed big gobs on her face & clothes, the floor and the wall. Her socks , pants, ect. were covered and were heavy because of all the Vaseline on them. She also loved finger nail polish & would empty the whole bottle on her legs or between her fingers. I couldn’t figure out how she could open fingernail polish. Maybe her sisters had been using it at the time (or me). It didn’t bother Janet to get dirty at all, but I don’t think that was all bad. She was always ready to join the boys in a good time. One time she was sitting by the Clorox bottle and had the lid inside her mouth sucking on it. I was afraid that she’d been drinking the Clorox. Most of the time Scott was involved in the big “projects”. I didn’t know which one of them thought of the fun first. I usually blamed Scott, but now I wonder. One time we were cleaning out one room downstairs that had no furniture in it at the time. I heard Janet & Scott laughing for a long time, like over an hour. I should have checked on them sooner!! I found them crushing soda crackers all over the floor of that room! They had opened a 2 pound box and there were no more crackers left in the box!! Later when everyone else was downstairs (probably cleaning up the crackers), Janet & Scott got a gallon of milk out of the fridge and poured the entire gallon on the kitchen floor and were laughing the whole time. Les was there helping me to get them to help clean it up, but they were still laughing, so finally we locked them outside the sliding glass door while we cleaned it up. It was a pretty cold day and I can still see their mournful , screaming faces just looking inside at the rest of us as they just stood there!! Another night after I got home from Relief Society, Janet and Scott were the only kids still awake. Les was waiting for me, so he could go play basketball at the church. I put the two kids in our bed with me, and turned out all the lights. I started telling nursery rhymes to them and they really got the giggles badly! I’d put their name in the nursery rhyme like in Rock-a-bye baby, down will fall Janet, cradle and all.”and they were laughing so hard that they could hardly breathe! I couldn’t stop laughing either! Finally all 3 of us fell asleep, and Les moved them out when he got home. I remember when Janet turned 8, the general broadcast for Primary, YW, & RS was altogether & it was right on her birthday! That wasn’t a very exciting thing to do on your birthday! She sat by me & fell asleep on my shoulder! What a sweetheart. I was impressed that she had the courage to run for Student Body Pres.! She did such a great job too! I’m proud of you! Happy Birthday, Janet! I love you!! Mom
Being inspirational and a true friend (even to so many).
One of my favorite memories with you, Janet, is actually soon after we first met. You had some friends and their kids over at your house and we just hung out most of the day. It was a wonderful break for me and I was SO glad to gain such a good friend like you. We talked a ton and I felt close to you ever after that. I also cherish our walking days. I wish we could still walk (and talk) together so often. I cherish our friendship!
I look forward to many more memories with you, Janet! I truly love you and hope you have the happiest of birthdays!
Janet's positive attitude is infectious. You can't help but be happy around her. She can find the good in a bad day and almost always has something to laugh about. She has inspired me to find joy in life, rain or shine, and I'm grateful to know her! Happy Birthday Janet! Love ya!
I think my best memories with Janet are just talking about everyday life. She is very easy to talk to and sincerely interested in your life. I felt like we could relate in many aspects of our lives. She always made me feel validated and understood. She is happy and sincere. I miss talking with you, Janet, and hope life is wonderful and full of fun! I hope you have a wonderful birthday because you deserve it! Love you and Happy Birthday! Emily Bowen
She always makes people feel like their the most important person in the world. She lights up a room when she enters and her sense of humor and personality is contagious. Thanks Janet I hope you have a great birthday, we love you.
Janet's best quality is that she is totally comfortable just being herself and she accepts everyone else 'as is'. She doesn't seem to have anything to hide which allows her heart to be wide open. And people are drawn to this open, honest girl. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Janet and I were neighbors at Wyview while going to BYU. She was my favorite neighbor of all time. She had baby Ben and was working and doing so much. I'd watch that cute little baby while she'd run a quick errand or go pick up Aaron. Even then I wanted to be a mom like Janet. She was such a great example now and then. I admire her love and dedication to homeschooling and to her family. I'm so glad we still keep in touch. Happy Birthday Janet!
so many people have said this already, but Janet is so blunt. I just love her honesty. She is so kind and considerate, but when she doesn't agree with something, you know it! I love that she always stands up for the underdog! I would NOT want to be on the other side up against Janet because she's a fighter.
She is very funny, but she doesn't have to show it off. It's amazing how serious and mature she can be and two minutes later, she's cracking a joke and telling a funny story. her stories are tHE BEST!
Happy birthday, chicka! You have influenced so many people. You make the world a better place just by being YOU.
Since I only know you through blogging, I think that you are a wonderful writer, and you're hilarious! I look forward to making at least one memory with her one day. Does that sound stalker-ish?
she amazes me how much she can do and she does it all quickly! she never seems to stress about anything. she is calm and yet crazy-fun at the same time!
Her "JANETNESS" is expressed in everything she does, and is a quality many of us strive to emulate (a combination of being sincere, loyal, outgoing, loving, confident, encouraging, friendly . . . My favorite memory is when we were in Seminary class together. She was giving her testimony and it made an impact on me. Another fav memory is when we went to the movies right after my son was born. It was nothing big, but something I needed at the time. She knows what everyone needs, even if they don't. Love ya Janet!! I hope you have a GREAT birthday!! -Krystal Chandler
I've never seen Janet get upset, even in the most stressful situations. She calmly fixes every problem that comes her way. When I picture Janet in my head, I see her with a lit-up, happy face. I can't even imagine a worried or distressed look from her ever. I love this about you, Janet. You're such a great example to me of how I SHOULD react to things.
My favorite memories with Janet are from our many Game Nights. I got to know her best at those because we really let loose and revealed some of our deepest, darkest secrets. Not really. But we did reveal things about ourselves that we probably wouldn't ever reveal at any other church activities. Janet's fun-loving and a little obscene sometimes, and it makes her so fun to be around.
A few faves are girls camp (Big Hunks Rule!), going camping (when someone peed on their pants, or any other time we've hung. Janet has an amazing ability to to make those around her feel better, happier, and more positive, (she just rubs off on people). luv you Janet!
Mom & dad went out of town for a few nights and left Janet in charge. The first night we were gone some neighbor friends (the Cox boys) toilet papered our front AND back yards. Janet found out who did it and wanted to get even. She had her friend at office depot collect millions of tiny whole punch circles (we had two huge garbage bags) and dumped paper all over their lawn. The whole family was involved (Cindy must have only been 5 or 6) and we were scared/excited to sneak out.
Janet is THOUGHTFUL. I was running for office (in high school) against a very good friend of hers and when I won I was afraid she'd want nothing to do with me. She wrote me a little note and handed to me the next day. She said she was excited to work with me and that she had a feeling we were going to be great friends. She was right :)
Who else seriously makes HOMEMADE cookies and mails them to you?? Who else gives give aways on her blog because she gets a check from blogher every month? Who else just picks up a book and devours it and then passionately gives a book report it on her blog the next day? Who else stays up until all hours of the night playing games with the girls? Who else spends so much time and energy on the 5 boys in her life to make them comfortable and happy? Who is as chill and laid back as Janet is? Who can juggle 15,000 things at a time and still look good doing it?
JANET. THAT'S WHO.
Love you Janet. Hope you have a radical birthday. You deserve it!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET I didn't leave a comment on the two previous posts as there is nothing I could add that wasn't already very well expressed. Of course my favorite memory is when youcame to see me with your family on Mother's Day 4 years ago after tracking me down. I'd just had surgery and having lost my 3 children Mother's Day is always hard. What a concidence that your Mom's name is Beverly like mine and my oldest daughter's (who would have been 61 this year) name was Janet. I've appreciated your visits the few months you lived here after we met, your visit to me in Spokane a year ago and your Sunday phone calls. You keep in closer touch with me than most of my nieces and nephews. I've really enjoyed our relationship since your family made me a surrogate grandma. Love reading your blogs and I've told you in the past you could be a modern day Erma Bombeck with your abiliy to make people laugh about your family's day to day adventures. I don't know how you do everything you do. Have never known anyone during my lifetime who makes everyone feel like you are their best friend the first time you meet them. It has certainly been a great pleasure for me to have you come into my life at a difficult time when my husband had just passed away. By the way, I think you could be Pres. of the U.S. or at least Secretary of State (after the boys are raised). I think our national and foreign problems would be solved. I enjoy reading all the nice things everyone has written. You have many fans. Especially your Mom's memories when you were little. Now we know where Zach gets his personality. Love, BEV O
So my first memory of Janet (and one that I had for a long time) was one night, I was hanging out with Cindy at Kristy's house. Cindy had mentioned that her other sister Janet was going to come by later. I'm not exactly sure what happened that night but I just remember Janet being super crazy on the trampoline and saying the craziest things. So I remind you, I had that memory of her for like 3 years while I was at school and on my mission and I didn't see her again until Kevin's reception. She was as crazy as I remember :) But after spending a weekend in las Vegas with her family, I know that underneath all that stuff is a great mom. Happy Birthday Janet!!
Janet's best quality is her story telling ability. I can remember going camping with the whole family and she sat and told, pretty much her life story to me and it was the most entertaining thing I have ever heard.
Oh boy, I have SO many memories! This summer we had a lot of fun. I will never forget living with them.
One time Janet decided that she wanted to go on a year-long field trip in a motor home (she still wants to do this) and travel the US. Then she heard about this TV show thing through Oprah and decided that many she could have her own show and still fulfill this dream. We headed to California with the whole family so she could audition for her own show. Janet and I woke up at 6:00 am and headed to the audition. It was CRAZY! When her audition came she totally rocked it! While we were at the beach she got a phone call for call-backs. We all knew (including herself of course) she would move to the next level. That was so fun and crazy and I will never forget it.
There was another time this summer when something out side smelled like cat urine. It was a horrible smell and we could smell it every time we left the house. After some investigation we found some rotting chicken in the garbage can. It was covered in maggots! It really smelt like a dead body! That's a funny memory.
I could go on and on and on. I had so much fun living with Janet and company this summer! We went swimming, played at museums, got Sonic almost daily, went to the drive-in and stopped to watch the other movies on the other screens at 1:00 am, made s'mores outside, survived 112 degree weather, watched all the Jane Austin movies, watched Fiddler on the Roof and cried, riding rides and Circus Circus, went to Blue Diamond and feed apple chips to wild donkeys, and learned more about each other.
I love you Janet!! Thank you for everything!! You and Aaron really did SO much for me this summer! It was such a blast! I love you and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
think Janet's a pretty good "reader" of people's personalities and emotions. A room can be crowed with people but when Janet talks to you, her absolute attention makes you feel like you're somebody special and whatever you have to say is more important than anything else going on at the moment.
I remember I was having a really bad day, no, a really bad year and Janet took me to get my hair colored and styled (which I'd never had done professionally before) and then she let me borrow her glitzy J-Lo sunglasses for the weekend because she said they looked hot with my new hair. I knew she was reading my emotions at that moment and acted on a small prompting that made my day better. But the coolest thing about Janet is that she has probably never thought of that moment again because helping people is just what she does.
Janet, you have this awesome ability of being kind and thoughtful to so many people! Whenever I sit and chat with you I walk away feeling better than before, and I always appreciate that! I hope you have a fabulous birthday!!
I have so many good memories with Janet Lee!! She has been there for me through out my life in so many ways. I would have to say my BEST memories with Janet have been our talks! Janet is so easy to talk too. I never tire talking to her... we've stayed up many nights talking in her car (i can still picture sitting in debbie's white car), in Hillary's bed, in her bed, at camper world, in a hotel room the night before I got married, at rick's, in St. George, and at my house. I am the person I am today because of Janet's friendship. Thanks for being there for me through all my BIG moments in life... highschool drama, parents divorce, college, marriage, the death of my Mom, the birth of my children, parenting, and everyday life. I always look forward to our conversations. Janet's best quality is her ability to motivate people to be better! I love you Janet!! I hope you have the best birthday ever! Thanks for being you!! It was fun to think about all of our good times together! I will always cherish them and you.
I think Janet's best quality is her ability to see and appreciate the best in people, and to love them. She is always looking for ways to learn from others, and to share her strengths with others as well. I admire you, and love you so much Janet. I hope you have a wonderful birthday! Love, Jane
I can still remember the first time I met Janet. Tim and I were dating and he invited me to the annual Clawson Christmas dinner. About 30 minutes into the night, Janet and Aaron showed up fresh off their long drive from Washington. I'm sure Janet was so tired, but she made such an effort to talk with me and make me feel included. We love you Janet! Happy Birthday!
I should've read Tim's before I wrote. I guess I'll write about Janet's best quality. Janet becomes friends with everyone because she really cares about them and she shows it so easily. She always wants to know what's going on in your life, and knows what questions to ask to make you open up. She can remember so many details about people (I'm the complete opposite of Janet with this). She is about as easy to talk to as anyone I've met. Janet's the best.
I have a lot of good memories with Janet growing up. It was a lot of fun being in high school with her and doing student government with her. We had a lot of fun parties that year.
I remember one time when Janet was the oldest one at home and our parents were out of town, we got toilet papered pretty bad. The next night (or a couple of nights later) Janet woke us all up at about 2 am. It was a school night and Cindy was only about 7. Janet had made a bag of colorful confetti out of the butcher paper from the high school library. We spread it all over the lawn of the neighbor that tp'ed us (I don't remember how we knew it was them that did it, but we got them back).
Janny, all of my memories have been so great and wonderful of you. You have been a great sister-in-law. Thanks for all the times we got to stay at your house, and being so good to Kristy and the kids. I hope that you have a perfect Birthday. Happy Happy Birthday!!! I love you. Randy
I wish I could have spent more time with you. The stories I hear make me laugh so hard. I love how you are comfortable in your own skin. You are very confident and good with people. I really admire that about you. Happy Birthday!
I can never truly express my appreciation for the terrific surprise 50th birthday party for me that she planned, worked, and executed! The album and video are priceless. I promise that, when the time comes, I will make everyone in the nursing home watch my surprise birthday video over and over and over again! I treasure the few times that we've been able to live close by and also the effort she makes to stay close when we're far away. I love having Janet in our family -- thank you for being a wonderful: daughter-in-law, friend, mother to my grandchildren, and eternal companion to my son. Happy, happy birthday, Janet dear...love, Brandy
When Aaron and Janet were close to their wedding day Brandy and I were invited to dinner at the Clawson home. We were discussing what things they still needed to set up their house and Janet promptly responded with those big bright blue eyes... "all we really need is a bed". I thought to myself, "Aaron is one lucky man!"
Janet you are one of the coolest ladies I know. Thank you for getting me out and meeting people after I first moved into the ward. You are so awesome!!!! It was such a great surprise to see you at Christmas and on my Birthday with one of your little men bringing our family a yummy desert. I always felt so included. Thank you!!!!!! I love you Lady! All the best to you on this YOUR birthday!!!!! - Skeet
Every time I've seen you I just feel like I could just talk to you for hours. Remember when I was worried about Jake's shots? I wanted to call you and I hardly even knew you. I love how passionate you are about life. I love how you are always learning and growing. I love your sense of humor.
Janet is the most supportive and capable person I know who genuinely cares about others practically to a fault.
I think my favorite memory or story to tell about her is when she took back a bag of popsicles to Reams in Provo after eating every flavor except for peach and then made the manager at Reams taste one of the peach popsicles because it was too salty. After he took a lick, she said, "No. You've got to get a good taste," and made him take a big bite to which he responded that it was too salty. Janet got her money back and also wrote a letter to the popsicle manufacturer who ended up sending her a thank you card because she helped them find a leak in their saline freezing process that was making the popsicles salty. They also gave her a refund check for the bag of popsicles she purchased even though she ate all of the other flavors in that bag of popsicles.
More recently, Janet gave some money to a lady at the grocery store that was struggling and asking for help to feed her daughter. At the check out, Janet saw the lady use the money to buy two big bottles of Listerine. About a week later, we were out and the same lady stopped me and asked me for some help to feed her daughter. Janet recognized her, told me to get in the car and then chewed out the lady for buying Listerine instead of food for her daughter. When the lady said, "I don't even drink Listerine," Janet replied, "No one DRINKS Listerine!" I can't remember if Janet asked for her money back that she gave the lady a week earlier, but it wouldn't surprise me. Don't mess with Janet.
Two memories and they have to do with student government: #1-Camp at CEU when we stayed up all night going around and saying why we liked every other person in the room. Yes, we never went to bed! I think this was your idea. I loved it!
#2- When you drove Tristie and myself around to help us put together our Jr. Prom. I remember it was snowing. Your windshield was so dirty and we didn't have any windshield wiper fluid. We were laughing about it because we couldn't see where we were going! Good times!
I liked our toilet papering experience until I saw Enoch cleaning the yard up with an industrial vacuum. I've felt bad about it ever since. Janet made it fun, though.
I really liked hanging out with Janet when I was really little. I loved how she got along with Mrs. Trelease so well. She even took me to school when she was a sophomore just so I could meet her (Janny, I don't know if I ever told you, but Mrs. Trelease and I hated each other. We butt heads more than anyone I have ever met).
I also liked when she would take us to the high school when she was involved in student government. I loved going to dances to set up, getting in to football games free, and hanging out in the SBO lounge. She would make us feel at home and introduce us to all of her friends at school (which was just about EVERYONE).
I also remember the Thanksgiving when Dad was in the hospital after heart surgery. Janet bought Stouffers lasagna and made us some salad and veggies. We ate Thanksgiving dinner without turkey and without mom and dad. Janet made it fun and then drove us to the hospital later in the day.
When Janet was about 20 months old, I came home from work and opened the front door. All of the kids were standing at the top of the stairs with Bev waiting for me. I was probably tired and not too talkative but said hi to them. I didn't make an effort to say hi to them individually and Janet was so heartbroken that I didn't says hi to her that she broke down and fell straight to the floor crying. I wonder if she does that today when Aaron comes home.
I love that Janet is always so easy going. You can come to her anytime and she would do anything for you. Thank you Janet for always being a great friend.

one of the first things that comes to mind is janet's easy going-ness. i will always remember her telling me in college that i am "out going" but not "easy going." that really is true...but this isn't about me...janet is both. she is laid back and chill and i LOVE that. she is also extremely outgoing and not afraid to meet new people, her new neighbors, new roomies, try something new and i especially loved that while being her room roomie.
i don't really know where to begin about my favorite memory. i'm afraid there are too many to pick just one. of course emailing one another back and forth in the ricks computer lab is a great one. we were practically right next to each other but we were having such a great time trying to make each other laugh outloud at our emails. janet was such a fun roommate. i was heart broken when she was talking about rooming with someone else the next year, you know, to change things up. i didn't want another roommate. you couldn't get better than janet.
of course i have memories of "shumway" and all that came with him ;)
i remember visiting your byu apt while i was doing efy the summer you got married. we laid on your bed (like we did in the olden days at ricks) and we talked about your newlyweded life and how happy you were.
i will always remember calling you in a bucket of tears right after lucy was born...all emotional and out of whack. you knew i just needed to talk and that's just what we did.
i could write a book about all our memories...the great thing is the memories just keep going and i'm looking forward to a million more.
happy birthday beauty! hope your day is fabulous.
I love Janet's honesty, enthusiasm, desire to help others, creativity, silliness, joyful countenance, commitment to her family, courage to be who she is no matter what or where, and love for the Savior. Happy Birthday, Janet! You are beautiful inside out.
She loves everyone. There is no better quality to have!
Happy Birthday!!
P.S. That popsicle story is AWESOME! And Happy Birthday!
She's a great mixture of frankness/confidence as well as friendliness/compassion.
Love you, Janet!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET
I didn't leave a comment on the two previous posts as there is nothing I could add that wasn't already very well expressed.
She has a lot of energy.
Love,
Jane
- Skeet
just about every moment with janet is the best. she always makes you feel important and you feel special when she singles you out.
Every time I've seen you I just feel like I could just talk to you for hours. Remember when I was worried about Jake's shots? I wanted to call you and I hardly even knew you. I love how passionate you are about life. I love how you are always learning and growing. I love your sense of humor.
I hope you had an awesome birthday!

HAY
Aaron
Janet IS awesome. Definition of.
Happy Birthday sis!
Two memories and they have to do with student government:
#1-Camp at CEU when we stayed up all night going around and saying why we liked every other person in the room.
Love you Janny.
Dad says
When Janet was about 20 months old, I came home from work and opened the front door. All of the kids were standing at the top of the stairs with Bev waiting for me. I was probably tired and not too talkative but said hi to them. I didn't make an effort to say hi to them individually and Janet was so heartbroken that I didn't says hi to her that she broke down and fell straight to the floor crying. I wonder if she does that today when Aaron comes home.
I love that Janet is always so easy going. You can come to her anytime and she would do anything for you. Thank you Janet for always being a great friend.
Kelly
