bountiful baskets

Have you heard of fruit and vegetable co-op, Bountiful Baskets? If not, you need to check out their website and see if they are in your area. You pay $15 for a basket of fruit and veggies. They also have yummy breads, mexican baskets and boxes of fruit in season. Yesterday I picked up my basket and got so giddy looking at the loot. I am planning my meals this week around this produce.. (a new butternut squash soup recipe and a vegetarian spinach artichoke penne dish.) If we fall in love, I will add them to the recipe link. Our fruit bowl (which are the only "snacks" my kids are allowed to have in between meals) is overflowing with sweet goodness!

My area started getting Bountiful Baskets last July and I keep forgetting to buy one in time, or I'm not going to be here to pick it up, etc...you have inspired me to make sure I get one this week! Thanks

PLEASE let me know if like that soup. I tried on this week from AllRecipes.com that was only mediocre. But I love squash! Looks like a beautiful haul of produce. Yum.

We have it.........in a big way sister! ALthough I find that we are still hitting the store for produce because we cruise through it, so it doesn't end up saving too much money. Although what I do love about it is that I get to come up with recipes to use the produce. The big hit of last fall was persimmon cookies.

Ahhh! I keep meaning to try this, and I forget every week. I think it's a fantastic idea and a good way for my little family to branch out a little on what we eat. Thanks for the reminder (though 10 bucks says I'll still forget again...)
