THIS article has been emailed to me five times already, so I think I will share. Have you read it? I loved it... but I guess I need to get "out" more. I hadn't heard of any of the other mormon mommy bloggers except for NieNie and CJane.
It's amazing how VAST blogging world is, and yet, how it makes us all feel a little more connected to one another. Three cheers for good Mormon moms who inspire others to live life to the fullest by simply writing about their own.

I really enjoyed reading this. Weird, I know.
I have a question: For as much good as blogs do for the writers and readers alike, do you think blogs are part of the depression problem among Mormon moms? Many bloggers say that they post the terrible/hard parts of life, but do they really? Is blogging CAUSING more problems with judging among the Mormon community?
Learning the details about other people without doing it with love is what feeds comparison, which in turn leads to judging and depression. Right?
I don't know if that made any sense to me, but I would like to hear some thoughts from you, big sis.
Do I think it's CAUSING more problems? No. The same people who compare themselves to other moms in real life are the same who compare themselves to the lives of moms who blog. It's probably easier to "spy" on other people through the internet, but you have to remember that blogging is just a fraction of real life...
I do find that any blog who pretends life is perfect won't get readers coming back to them on a consistent basic. The particular blogs mentioned in this article are REAL women who blog about life as it happens, problems included. I believe they allow others to talk about their depression, messy houses, and problematic children because they are open and honest about the issues they have in their lives. They make life seem enjoyable amidst the chaos and that's what makes them so entertaining (addicting) to read...
I read and liked the article. That said, I don't think blogs like cJane and NieNie accurately depict the lives of most Mormon moms. I certainly don't get free stuff sent to me, making my Christmas incredible and free, just so I will advertise it on my blog. While I do think these blogs have done more good than harm, I have to remind myself that these women get paid to blog. It is their job. The fabulous dinner parties and designer outfits and over-the-top parties are paid by and produced for the blogging. They may not have started that way, but they are advertising tools now. Don't hate on me for saying it, but I like the blogs that actually, truly portray what life as a mom really is.
I can see what you're saying, but a small portion of their posts are advertising something... and they ONLY reason they are at that point is because they were truthful and fabulous before they were given free stuff. I think the vast majority of their posts are real and that's why so many people continue to read.
Have you read any of the other blogs mentioned in the article? I must live under a rock.. I've never heard of them before.
