Zack's birthday is just around the corner and he was so excited about making his chain, he could hardly stand it! Before we linked the papers together, we wrote a special "activity" for each day before his birthday. Each morning when he wakes up, he can take off a link and do what it says! I can't remember all twelve of them on the top of my head, but they are all simple things to excite our almost five year old. For example: Do a belly dance, Do your morning routine while walking backwards (brush teeth, make bed, etc.), Spank your own butt 5 times, Tell a silly joke.... He can choose whether or not his brothers can join him. This morning, the link read: Make one of your brother's sit in the high chair during breakfast. Daddy fed Simon on his lap and Luke took over the baby throne (because Luke had the craziest bedhead)...
Luke will get his own chain soon enough... until then, he has to obey the birthday boy. As you can tell, he was super happy about it. Oh, and his scar from the trampoline accident is looking beautiful.
......There's still lots of time to think about (and post) your favorite dinner recipe!

not this cute anymore!

this totally cracked me up. Love the video, and that's a really cute idea to do a countdown chain.

Hi!
I recently came across your blog and would like to talk to you about an article I wrote that, being a parent, I think you would enjoy (on early childhood education). I'd love it if you could drop me an email quick so I can give you more details if you're interested or if you were interested in new content for your blog.

I still have those clothes for your cousin, but feel bad it might be too late. I should have been better at getting them to you. I'm sorry!!
