March was Pneumonia and Bronchitis -
April brings the flu..
(and with that comes endless loads of laundry
and lots of carpet cleaning.)

Maybe in May we will get lucky and come down with
SCARLET FEVER
followed by a slow and painful DEATH.
SCARLET FEVER
followed by a slow and painful DEATH.
(This picture was taken last month when Zack was doing breathing treatments. He didn't really seem to mind because he thought he was a dragon and the vapor was his smoke.. right on.)Even though the past few months were bad-- I seriously think the flu is the WORST. Not only does it suck to clean up after kids who throw up, but being nauseous yourself is totally the pits. I haven't been able to do anything. But I am starting to see the light. My car is finally unpacked (mainly because it needed to be cleaned after Ben puked all over.) Laundry is somewhat under control. And for the first time since I've been home, I stepped in the kitchen. That's right, I actually made a meal!!! Maybe we will survive after all!
Can I just say that my husband is da BOMB. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT HIM! He completes me. He is the cheese to my macaroni. He had me at Hello. Seriously though-- He is the only person I can really be myself around. I can let it ALL hang loose-- and I know he's going to love me no matter what. He welcomed us home to a spotless house and we have completely destroyed it. He puts in long hours at the office and then has to come home to a house full of sickies. I really appreciate him so much. I am just crossing my fingers that he won't get what we brought home from Zion. Ben and Luke seem to be recovering, Zack is starting to get his energy back and as soon as the dust settles, I will check myself into a mental hospital.
Soon enough, I will stop complaining and start acting like everything is fine and dandy. I think It's a Wonderful Life was 2007. 2008's theme needs to be My Life Sucks and I am Always Tired. Seriously... something is really wrong here! For a minute there, I thought I was suffering from hypochondria. Am I really always sick or do I just THINK I am?? But can hypochondriacs subconsciously make everyone in their house think they are sick too? Last night, I started searching and took an online quiz. These were the results: You are 52% Hypochondriac. What does this mean? I personally think 52% is really, really high-- but maybe the hypochondriac in me that is telling me it's worse than it is? Maybe I am tired and I am ready for this to be over. That's what she said.

Yup, we've had all of the same, except that we can complete the list with scarlet fever too! Hayden had it at Christmas time. GEEZ!
Good stinkin luck...
I don't know how you do it - you still have your humor after all these ails! Hope all is better soon in your household, Sam
Please let me know if there is anything that we can do for you. You know your husband loves you when he is willing to clean up your puke. By the way, thats what she said was hilarious!
the scarlet fever comment made me smile..
"You had me at Hello" made me laugh out loud.
"That's what she said" made me pee a little.
You are SOO funny and your lack of blogging this past week has made my life suck. I hope you all get better soon so you keep up with your blog. seriously!
so, I read a LOT of blogs.. many of them make money from advertising. Yours is one of the BEST (funniest, most real, most entertaining) ones I have ever read and you aren't making money. You should think about it.
You totally crack me up!
Jean Wolf
and yet, you still have a sense of humor. Your great. sorry that everyone is so sick. We have been lucky enough to just have a cold, although it lasted for 2 weeks. Hope you all feel better.
YES!!! Janet is back!
Even though you say you're not.. you are! Love this post. I agree with Jean's-- you should be making money off this stuff.
oh-- and 52% hypochondriac is almost there. you probably are. You are such a drama queen.
Janet- I love your blog! Reading it is kind of like in high school when we used to try to "be cool" and write a note every period. Luv ya! Hope you all get feeling better soon!
I know I have a wonderful life.. somewhere deep down, I know it..
Right now it's hard, but it won't last long.
That's what she said.
okay. I have got to stop.. my mother in law reads this blog.
oh and Ashley (or anyone else living in Vegas) feel free to make us dinner or dessert any time you want :)
We've been living off mac and cheese and pancakes.. Aaron's specialties.
of course, don't do it out of obligation or anything... just do it because you really, really like us.
Ah, the never ending pile of puke laundry with little kids--No fun at all! I'm glad you're still willing to entertain us with your blog even though you are down in the dumps. I hope everyone feels better soon and that Aaron stays healthy.
Ok I was going to boycott your blog or at least commenting on it until I received your payment in the mail...BUT since you guys are stick I'll take pity on you.
I'm so sorry about your sickness. You guys just can't seem to kick it. It was sure fun to see you and hang out last week. You should make those spontaneous trips more often.
P.S. I've been trying to talk Matt into visiting Vegas, like everyday, but you know Matt and Aaron just don't get along. They are both so high maintenance on ornery folk...;)
jk aaron. i KNOW you read this!!!! don't deny.
Sorry you guys are so sick! See what happens when you move away from Spokane? It's all the polluted air in Las Vegas, I just know it! Seriously though, hope you are all feeling better soon, then you can come visit beautiful Spokane if it ever warms up and quits snowing!
Brooke-- we weren't "trying" to be cool... we totally WERE! Like when we were the only ones at the BUZZ game when it was pouring rain. Only the cool people do that.
And Val-- I was seriously in shock when I saw your comment... it's been like-- months. and I will give you a check in person when you and Matt come to visit.
Lindsay-- I would rather have the plague in Vegas than move back to Spokane. Ouch! But I would still love to see you guys when you come down this way!!
I am a friend of Shauna's. She has been telling me about your blog for a while and I finally logged on. I just spent over 2 hours reading all your stuff and it's good! You are hilarious and I can see why everyone loves your blog.
I will be coming back and hope you don't mind if I add you to my friends link.
Sista, you guys have GOT to stop. No more sickies. And it is never just a few days thing - when you're sick you are SICK. Thanks for all of the "that's what she said" comments, they totally made me laugh. And didn't you LOVE the dinner party episode? I still laugh about it. Hope you're all on the mend. You've got to get outside to the parks before it gets too hot. You don't have much time...
hey, i think flus are getting worse every year, i hate the flu. we had fun seeing you, i posted the picture of us you'll have to go see it, if you want me to email it to you let me know.
Erica--
thanks for the compliment, and feel free to add me to your friends link.. but I actually don't know who Shauna is. ?
Janet- I'm so sorry you guys have been sick again! I heard someone saying they read that you were sick on your blog and I thought that they meant last month! I'm going to make banana bread- do you want some? :)
Yikes, you have got to gid rid lady. Hope you are all better soon.
poor little guy... that picture tugs at the heart strings... i'm glad he thought he was a dragon! you guys have had it so rough!!! glad you have a great husband to help out and hope you're all feeling better soon!!! and thanks for the info about the blog! i thought it was silly that you could only put a limited amount of pics on a blog entry.
I just can't believe with how careful and watchful you are with getting yourself and your kids veggies and all of the other wonderful things you blog about, how often you get sick. I wish I could come over and hang out and just help take care of your boys for you so you could rest...
Stephanie--
I am really surprised myself how often we have been sick. You would think that my kids are rather sheltered- being homeschooled and all. And I am not a health nut by any means, but we eat a balanced diet. I am really starting to get obsessed with herbs and natural healing because we just can't seem to catch a break! And you are the LAST person that needs to be coming over to help me-- with your brand new baby! I should be bringing a meal over to you!
So sorry about the flu etc.etc.etc. We had it up here too. Ben was on breathing treatments for a few weeks - they STINK!! It's not enough to remember to give them a little pill - but to have to spend 20 min. 4 x a day giving breathing treatments - yeah I was looking into nearby mental hospitals myself. Sorry you feel so sick and tired all the time...in my world that = pregnancy...just a thought!
Love ya girl!
